Seen this too, if it's the one in the photo, it's the nicest antenna I've seen yet. In fact I would probably put one back on to do away with the grommet in my car as I have no antenna.
I've been looking a couple of other real nice short antennas too.
Paul can you email the details of the antenna too.
Thanks

Lo Custom do a Shark II and a mini shark. Although the mini shark is not available just yet I spoke to him and he says it will be available very soon

Seen those before, but still not as nice as the one in the first pic, I think anyway.

I went for the Shark II as the original antenna really dates the car (in my opinion) and I didnt want to wait for the mini shark.
Anyone going to Japfest got the tool for loosening the antenna? If so could you bring it along and lend it to me?

Thanks Paul!
Thats very neat looking. Even though I have no radio, Im thinking of putting an antenna back in the hole, as the grommet I use on mine, is just ok. Id like to do what andrew did and permanently get rid of the antenna hole, but won't be doing that until the day I need a full respray. So I've been looking at a few very small antennas.

I don't like it...its small and all but it interferes with the line of the car. Just doesn't look right. I will also one day just close that hole since I never have my radio on... rather listen to the engine. If I would go for an antenna i'd be looking for something like this...... you see them on many cars these days but it looks much better.

Oh god no! That doesn't look much better in my opinion, would look totally out of place on the NSX, way to big and will not suit sitting on a rear wing. Would look totally wrong even on the roof of the NSX lol

Has anyone had issues with the Shark II from Lo Custom 'leaking'? a small amount of water seems to be dripping in, definitely from the aerial?

Haven't had that issue yet as I just fitted mine a few days ago. The reception on the other hand is rubbish, especially on MW. I don't think the amp is too good...

Duchy, just disconnect the power supply to the ariel & the CD still works.
You may still be able to pick some reception as theres a second ariel built into the top
of the rear glass hatch.

I believe that's only on JDM models, and that aerial on its own, doesn't work to pick up stations in the UK.

Any tiny ariel is always going to be poor. No matter what amplifier its got, all you end up doing is amplifying a weak signal.
I think the standard ariel is perfectly fine as it only comes up when in use. As mine needs some maintenance it has self modified itself to come up half height!

Sounds like mine, that will only come up half way as well.

Did you know you can buy a rebuild kit for the OEM aerial, consisting of the mast and nylon toothed inner?

I would neec a radio to test the reception, but for £12, it's got to be worth a try?

Fitted my Shark II today.
Never thought I would let anyone near my P&J with a hammer but that was the all important tool (and a screwdriver) used to loosen the Antenna nut. Removed the original quite easily but fitting the shark was a PITA. Got there in the end but have some concerns about the water tight- ness of the fitting as I dont want water getting onto the boot. ANy advise? is it worth loosening it again and putting some sealant between the antenna base and the bodywork? Its only hand tight at present so need to tighten it (just a wee, wee bit)
Have to give some credit to my better half as her small hands came in useful (no saucy comments please) but I did discover one useful thing today.....
You can get a body in the boot of an NSX!!! LOL

Well done Geoff...or should I say Mrs "Geoff"?
Was your aerial the design where the wires go through the fixing nut? My first one was but the replacement, as the amp was faulty on the original, was a different design with the wires going out behind the nut. My concern here was dropping the nut inside the wing. I stuffed a rag inside to avoid this. In the end the second design was easier to get the nut on and tightened as I just stuffed paper towel on the socket to hold the nut at the top. This made it easy to hand turn the nut on without have to squeeze my fingers into the small hole...
What is your reception like? My FM is fine but the MW isn't great. Not sure if there may be other "wands" available with more windings to help reception that aren't necessarily longer? Frustratingly though I like listening to 5Live...

Mrs Geoff cannot reply as I haven't let her out the boot yet! The other benefit to this (her being in the boot) is that the whining from the LHS of the car when at high speed has also been resolved!
The aerial fitting was the type where the wiring came out of the back of the fitting but I found this awkward to fit so dropped the wires through the centre of the nut. FM reception is good, AM reception is 4/10 but the wife in the boot is still audible!!!
Now onto my next mod.....
....new leather seats?
....Double Din Hifi?
....new exhaust?
....new (bigger) wheels?
....full paintwork correction?
Where to start????

I use a very simple method to make sure the nut cant go anywhere and its flexible and leaves movement to get the nut on. Might not work for everyone;
if not, tie a piece of string to the antenna wire and pull it out and tie it up somewhere, so the nut cant escape.
