I'm sure you are asked this a lot, who offers alloys for the NSX ? I have just bought the 1991 Silver NSX with Azev alloys & would prefer a more oem look or BBS style. Please can someone point me in the right direction, as my local dealer doesn't know of any fitments & I'm unsure of what size to go for, thanks a lot

Personally I would try and hold out for a set of the 7 spoke OEM alloys.

I believe there is a club member selling some Enkei's shortly, I will let him chime in if they are still for sale...

What I would recommend is look over on prime at NSX's with aftermarket/OEM wheels, decide on the ones you like best then pm the owner or post a pic up here and well help you out with what they are and sizes.

OEM later model NSX wheels are popular and can run £1-3k. Real bbs are in the 2-3k without tyres. Rota do a great lightweight range of wheels that emulate the most popular Japanese wheels for under 1k a set. These are light and strong so will make great track wheels too.

Best of luck in your search!

I recently had the idea to go aftermarket and saw some great wheels that fitted the NSX. TWS have some that fit (I was going to get 17's on the front and 18's on the back). I liked their Mugello wheels and Kei Racing also had a nice set that fitted (Ebisu)

In the end (after attending Silverstone) I saw that only one of the cars had gone aftermarket and advise I was getting from those who know more about it than me was to leave well alone or stay with Honda. Each to their own, I am still thinking about it!

The only proper wheels that actually FIT an NSX other than OEM are made by Mugen, Rays or Enkei. The last is reasonably-priced and available throught Science of Speed.

Most are unavailable in the correct offsets & stagger. Or are simply heavy, bling crap.

It's rather more involved than many people realise.

I'd second that. My degree in astrophysics was easier!!!

If you look on the parts section of pistonheads under the Honda section and use the filters to specify nsx in the titles there is someone selling a set of oem 7spoke alloys with tyres for £1100 and they have been on the site a while so should have some flexibility on the asking price

This is not quite true, there is also BBS, BBS wheels were fitted as standard on the US only NSX Zarnardi and the JDM only NSX Type S. BBS also did aftermarket wheels for the NSX but only got them type approved in the US and Japan. Hence why mine came from the US.

Sorry. I sort of count BBS as OEM - my S2000 also had OEM (well JDM OEM) BBSs before the Mugen GPs.

Also beware that some aftermarket BBSs come in offsets that I'd only use on a track and not OEM BBS.

Given that some people even use the wrong nuts to hold them on (spherical OEMs on a conical recess!) then I think Geoff is right - rocket surgery seems more foolproof!

I have a set of the 7 blades, but they will be sold with the car when I put it up in a couple of weeks, just in case the new owner wants to replace the bling crap I've put on, :D
I'll announce on here if she sells and the new owner doesn't want them.

Cheers

Geoff, if you're still in the market these new Enkei's look interesting. http://www.nsxprime.com/forum/showthread.php/170403-Enkei-Kojin

Hmmm, not sure about them. My preference is Kei Ebisu (Hyper Silver) in 17's and 18's

Rota (rarerims) have a few NSX 18/17 options although given the stagger its difficult finding a match of colour

I purchased Rota Force but Grid and Fighters were an option but waiting on stock for matching front and rear set in the same colour

Mine on 18/17 Force

I like the simplicity of the Enkei, but I think the Kei are a little too fussy?
Its all down to personal taste.

Do you know weight wise, how do they compare to OEMs 94+ bearing mind they 17/18s?

Simon may have been referring to these; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GENUINE-BBS-LM-LM071-LM069-17x8-17x9-17-ALLOY-WHEELS-RIMS-SET-2-/ (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GENUINE-BBS-LM-LM071-LM069-17x8-17x9-17-ALLOY-WHEELS-RIMS-SET-2-/200899326603)

Always liked the BBS LM's, that colour would have looked good on a red NSX.

EDIT: Not sold, listing ended.

They'd look good mate, you could always tone them down by painting the centres grey.

let the tyres down, take out the rim bolts, pop the centres out and repaint them....

now there's an idea! lol

Yes the Tegiwa ones, there were a few sets listed last week that were suitable for NSX or S2000.

I'm actually half interested in a set of them now. Any ideas if the +35 front & +42 rear offsets are fine for clearing the 97+ brake calipers without the need for spacers?

simonprelude

Standard offset is +55 and +60 so you'd be more worried about arch rub than calipers fouling.

The BBS LM's are a three piece and need a sealant when joining the two halves of the rim back together. (Had some on our old Supra) Although Rota do a replica of them in a one piece.
