Yeah that's still the plan, but the particular Lambo Im after is hard to get, the owner is in no hurry to let it go unfortunately, I have a few no 8 plates, but for £600, Id still buy that NSX6 now and if I sell my car, id just leave it on there.

I wouldn't be a fan of other NSX plates, but anything NSX1 to NSX9 or the reverse would be nice.

Agreed but the dealers will be their any understand the market for it when the new car is launched. I hope a forum member buys it but the guide is optimistic in the extreame.

Scott, you're not wrong in your suspicion, but I think you are WAY over optimistic on that price.

Previous results for plates in recent auctions were:

- 4NSX £1100 (2009)
- 7NSX £1100 (2011)
- 9NSX £1300 (2010)
- NSX7 £1700 (2012)

I reckon that's a £1.5 to £2k plate and that's what I was going to go in at (there are fees on top). I am registered to bid at the auction, but if anyone else here wants a clear run, let me know as there's no point in us bidding against each other. It's only a plate!

We travelled all the way to Harrogate to bid on a plate a few years ago (excuse for a break as well) we were prepared to pay about £1k all in, outbid by a dealer then get offered the plate for £17k a few weeks later. No thanks.

Remember there is VAT, assignment fee, buyers premium fee, vat on buyers premium, so £1000 quickly becomes close to £1400. I've my bid now so ill see how it goes.

ahh balls i'm priced out already ...

i have other things to be doing with my car than blowing money on a plate ... did not think there was going to be as much interest in it but no way am i paying > 1k for a plate ... its the lower end of the mart for me for an nsx type plate by looks of it ... m88 will have to do a bit longer!

Thinking about it, thats a good price for a reg with a number first, followed
by three letters, whether its NSX or not. I wouldn't pay anything near that
but its a good buy for someone. Just my 2p

When I sold the car the new owner didn't wany (couldn't afford) the plate, so I advertised it privately and made the best part of 200% on the original purchase price. A tad better than any savings account!

If £1900 was the figure bid at the auction, then there is a load of fees plus vat to add, so the plate would be around £2500

The plate that was on my car for the last few months (46GT) was bought by a neighbour for his Continental GT for a sum considerably in excess of what I paid for it in 2005.

So everyone is (I think) happy: my neighbour has a plate at a price that he is happy with, my fellow forumite has a plate that will look well on his car and I think V6NSX is a pretty good plate to have on a post '97 car.

I'm sure I have confused even myself with the above. Good luck deciphering that lot!

The 'forumite' (great term Rob) is me and the plate looks great on the car.
When NSX 6 came up for sale I was not surprised Flyingsniffer was intending to bid and we agreed if he was the winner we would do an excvhange so we both end up with a personalised plate that can be applied to our cars. The paperwork was completed and I have already had the forms back from Rob and the plate has been assigned at my local DVLA office. The transfer of nominee on V6 NSX they say can take yup to three weeks so Flyingsniffer should be seeing the paperwork any day now.

V778 has arrived and now sent off to DVLA...so pressure's on to get the V5 back before March 1st when the the plan is that the old girl comes out of hibernation!

V6 NSX has to be one of the coolest possible plates! As uncontrived as you can get.
