Hi Guys,
After some stirr up in the Gerneral discussion section an update of what it was all about.
As some of you know Me, Dimer and Adnan (AS motorsport) or looking to organise a big European NSX meeting. We are currently looking at venues and dates for the meeting to be held. As there are a few options available. We are looking to organize a 1 or 2 day event, current venues we are looking at are:
- Circuit Mettet France
- Circuit de la Sarthe (Lemans) (together with NSX.ch)
- Around the Nordschleife Germany
We've also been toying with the idea to do a "2 or 3 day tour of Europe" and visit some landmarks / company's. So until now we don't have any definite dates yet. But these will follow shortly, and we would be happy to welcome the NSX Club Britain!
We have also recently opened a Facebook page here: http://www.facebook.com/NSXClubEurope
And a Website / forum here: http://nsxclubeurope.com/
Feel welcome to like / register, but to make things clear we are not looking to replace the NSX Club Britain. The idea behind the forum is set up a virtual community of NSX drivers across Europe. We have had many people joining from ie. Netherlands, Belgium, France, Portugal and even Croatia. If your interested your welcome to have a look here: http://www.nsxclubeurope.com/forums/
We hope to get you some more details on the event and dates soon! So please check this topic on a regular bases.
Best regards,
Bas
Ps. Please don't confuse us with the German based European NSX Club by Heinz Grauer. As this was the cause of the stirr up last time!

Finally! We have got a date and location for the biggest NSX meeting/event in European history, NSX Fiesta Europe!
The event will take place at Circuit Bugatti le Mans (France) on August 10th and 11th. We teamed up with NSX Club Switzerland as they have rented the track. We have secured a big part of the paddock where we can line up all the NSX's. On Saturday 10th, we have 20 slots for the track day. The idea for the Saturday will be to meet and greet, check out the cars and action on the track and if you feel like it, go for a spin at the legendary le Mans circuit.

http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii192/dimert/example_zps927cab58.jpg
On Sunday we will do a tour around the area with a stop at the Musee Automobile de la Sarthe - Le Mans. This museum is filled with the rich history of the 24h of le Mans.

Prices:
Entry at the paddock is FREE
Open pitlane Saturday: EUR 330,-
Pitbox per car: EUR 80,-
Lunch at the track: EUR 40,- (incl drinks)

Hi,
glad to hear you finally got something arranged and sounds interesting. Would definitely be interested in attending and hopefully there is good interest on here to.
regarding getting out on track, is it only limited to 20 cars and therefore sold on a 1st come 1st served basis?
hopefully this is a successful event and sufficient interest from NSXCB members!

interested Eurotunnels depart every 2 hrs (10am, 1200, 1400....0000), cost about £50 each way. Its then a 269 mile drive to Le Mans (c 4 hours). Do we have the ground clearance to get an NSX on a Eurotunnel?

No issues for ground clearance, they just load you on the bottom. The only thing that I thought could be an issue is kerbing alloys if you have low profile tyres and wide wheels :)

Had zero issues being put into euro tunnel carriage, car went in no sweat on standard boots etc.

I'm up for this, will fill in the form and fingers crossed it all comes off.
If anyone is up for extending the trip by a few days, I have a three bedroom apartment in the alps just South of Lake Geneva (in the village of Chatel - I'm just back from the last of this season's skiing). It will be a great base for excursions around the area http://www.alpineroads.com/savoie.php#arly - includes the Grande and Petit St Bernard passes and maybe a day of Alpine fun (white water rafting, mountain biking etc). Maybe even back via the Black Forest. If anyone else fancies the extension, let me know.

I'd be up for a little extension as well. That is a lovely part of the world!
Actually there is a European Honda meet the weekend after at Clastres - http://www.hondaeuromeet.com/ so if anyone is interested in the NSX meet, little Tour De France and the back via Clastres the week after??

I'm taking my NSX, happy to give you a lift back Paul, but I need to kick on Sunday pm so can drop you anywhere near the Kent motorways. I might swerve the museum on Sunday pm and head back - museums don't generally do it for me.

Paul would be great if you could make it with the NSX, the more the merrier! I know eurotunnel does 3 day short stay savers at very reasonable prices.
And quite a few have booked the arnage hotel:

Which has a closed carpark at night (so they claim)

I'm afraid I'm a tentative at the moment. Depending on whether I'm in Germany the weekend after.
Eurotunnel's 3 day 'savers' are not working out very good - due to being holiday season? - looking at £185 return.

A quick google says that you can use Tesco clubcard vouchers at £1 vouchers = £3 tunnel...I'll let you know later if it works!
[EDIT]
Yep,all sorted on Clubcard. Crossing was £60 of vouchers, plus £9 cash, then £21 for b'down cover. Meeting Baz at Arras at 13.00.
Right, must do some work.....
Paul, I'm coming back on the 1650 crossing if that helps.

So it looks like it is just the 3 of us, a bit of a poor showing as Le Mans is only 4 hours from Calais.
As I will already be in France I will be getting to the circuit for between 11am and 12. Have either of you booked a hotel yet?

Hi guys,
I propose a UK (3 cars) / NL (6) / B (?) / FR (1) meeting near Arras (France) between 13:00 and 14:00 on friday 9th.
As Arras is a little far from the A1 highway, the meeting point will be at the 1st highway service AFTER the A1 toll, at the "AIRE DE WANCOURT-OUEST" :
Then the 10+ NSX convoy could leave around 14:00 and go to Le mans.

Hi Bas
I will see you at the circuit on Saturday. I'm without access to a printer at the moment so I can't print any of this stuff off.

Just arrived back from the trip. I missed this morning's fun as museum visits aren't really my thing (Did "Sperm, the movie" get another showing???), so I made my way back via the Route Nationale to Rouen before getting back on the motorways. Picked up a 90 euro speeding fine in the process . But that's what it's all about. 875 mile round trip.
Great to Meet Mikey, Sean and Paul from the UK and of course all the guys from Holland, France, Norway, Belgium (I think), great effort all round arranging it all.
The track days yesterday was good fun, although stock brakes and suspension (in my case) were quickly shown up - two laps in anger per session were all that it could really cope with. And my tyres (bought as a second hand set of indeterminate history) have changed their consistency to a weird rubber mush! Bit lumpy on the way back.
Thanks to Baz, Dimer, Adnan and everyone else for arranging. And to Jean Claude for the track part. Looking forward to next year already (once I have fixed all the faults I have picked up on the way...)

I'm now back home as well. Really good weekend! The sperm movie was worth it all on it's own! We came home via Caen, to avoid Rouen, so I had to do 5 tolls on my own! Pull up, handbrake, seatbelt, get out run around, what a pain in the ass!!!
Anyway as above thanks to all and we need to start on 2014 meet now!

Great to meet the UK contingent - Paul, Rob and Sean and that you arrived back safely (bar the fine Rob!)
We were back about 2.30 this morning so still a little bleary eyed!
An absolutely top few days. A great bunch of people, some very interesting characters, great cars, track driving, beer, food and sunshine.
Can't wait till the next one!
Will get some photos up soon.

Hey Guys,
Good to hear everybody got home safe!Had an absolute brilliant time! Thanks you guys for making the trip over to the mainland! Or as you like to call it the island of Europe ;-).
Sperm the Movie was definitely worth it on it's own! We also really appreciate all the input we've gained from our beer moment on saturday evening. And we are already looking at new options for 2014.
Hopefully you will join again, as it was absolute brilliant to have you guys there! Too bad Paul was a tad to late for the 2 parade laps on the circuit, and i'll make sure to have a "sport" and leisure" scenery tour next time!

Thanks again for coming over and hope to see you next year!

And a massive thanks of course to you Bas and the other guys for organising - politics show that its not easy organising a bunch of Europeans but it was a huge success!

Wilbert from Holland won the OEM award: fully deserved. His car is a 1991 original (except for later wheels), with 7,400km on the clock:eek:. The first time - ever - that the car has seen rain was on Friday morning.
Furthest travelled went to the guy (name escapes me, to be fair most of them did!) from Norway. 2,400km each way. He had a nice pair.....sorry, car ;). Mike, video clip??
Best modified went to Yoep from Holland with his widebody, supercharged Acura. Despite it's rather alarming tendency to drive along the hard shoulder of the Autoroute, it was clearly a monster - in a straight line, at least. I don't think I ever saw it corner!
And the Oscar for best actor? The Sperm in the middle of the screen on 'Sperm, the Movie'. The one with the wiggly tail. [You had to be there....]
Eventually I'll get round to doing a video summary of the whole event. It was great fun, everyone should make an effort to support it next year if they can. I think we had 27 NSX's at one point late on Saturday.

Some stunning cars and great pictures
It was really was great to see you all again.
Too bad that events like this only tend to happen only once a year.
And before anybody else (especially your stayed-at-home better halves) asks any question about that Sperm the Movie, here is a link to that Particular Movie

(BTW, it seems that some things stuck in your UK-memories more that it did to the more developed characters here on mainland of Europe... :) )

Hey Maarten, I was hoping we could tempt you to put the video link up! Thanks for visiting again ;-).
The video is very interesting and I hope our British joshing is taken in good humour. Developed characters in Europe? Hmmmm......
By the way I have some pretty good tracking shots of your car from the parade lap, I had a camera mounted on the rear of my car and you were behind me for half of the lap, I'll send them to you on a stick or similar if you want them, just pm me your address.
