I did away with cruise control when I switched to the Momo tuner wheel but have been thinking of late about restoring the function.
Is it difficult to do? It's been that long since I had the wheel off I can't remember what's involved in terms of wiring.
I am looking at getting these Sparco buttons:

Thoughts?

he is your best shot and he done the modification on mine as you know ... be interesting to see if you can get these fitted; looks like a decent compromise for sure
the old CC is very handy ... or i am getting too old
Good luck!

Easy to do, have a look on Prime, I'm sure I remember a post with pictures on how to do it.

As NSXGB mentioned, it’s easy.
The diagram above will only work if you kept the cable reel on the car.
If you have removed the cable reel, please look at post #3 in the following link;
http://www.nsxcb.co.uk/showthread.php?6367-2002-Type-R-Steering-wheel-with-OEM-boss
At the very end of post #3, you will find the connection info about the Set/Resume feature.
All you need is the high side signal (+12V) into the Set or Resume terminal when the switch is pressed.
If you are placing the switch around the steering wheel and if you have kept the 6pin in-line yellow connector (the last photo in post #3 above) under the steering column, the input terminals are already there.
On non-DBW model, the Cruise Control (CC) is done through the Auto Cruise controller behind the passenger glove box so if you are thinking of installing the CC switch away from the steering wheel, you can also run the cable from the controller instead.
On DBW model, it is done through the ECU but the switch input logic is the same.
I think Sudesh posted somewhere in the past showing the OEM switches relocated into the centre console switch panel behind the shift lever.
UK spec NSX may struggle to place the switch there [Edit: if all four slots were used up].
If you want to simplify the installation, you can just install the Set switch.
If you haven’t replaced your lower steering wheel/column cover, you should see half moon shape opening at the left side. You can install low height flat switch almost hidden there to keep the OEM like view.

UK spec NSX may struggle to place the switch there as there is no space left.
Kaz
Not on facelift UK NSX!
Also I've done the same install for an owner with pre-facelift UK NSX, he wanted to do away with those old front fogs and never used headlight wash, so I made the new panel to suit.
Facelift UK cars don't have 4 buttons, they only have 2, so simple there.

Thank you for pointing it out to me, Sudesh.
I have modified my original post.
Can’t remember the spec of gcon45’s NSX but hope he can achieve his goal with these info.

Many thanks for the replies!
Couldn't be simpler.
I think I'll go with set and resume buttons simply for the symmetry of having both.
Thanks again!

Conor I've seen those sparco things in the flesh, and to be honest I thought it looked real cheap and tacky.

Hmmm. Might wait to find better ones in that case Sudesh. I'm in no rush anyway.
Carbon fibre would be nice...

you could always buy a piece of carbon fibre sheet, like this, from 'kitcarbon' on the 'bay
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Real-Carbon-Fibre-Sheet-3mm-Thick-A4-297x210mm-Very-Strong-Sheet-/221185005343?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item337fa7571f
and cut it out .... just wear a mask!

Tempted to switch from the 350mm Momo tuner wheel to the 320mm.
Anyone done this?
I'm 6'2 and the 350mm wheel almost touches my thighs even at full adjustment.
There's something attractive about a smaller wheel too. Takes me back to my 2 stroke karting days!

I would love to change wheels to the momo tuner, but the lack of an airbag and a near OEM way of retaining the cruise control puts me off. I might just end up getting my wheel retrimmed and ask them to add a bit more padding as I find the size ok really.

I think I'm gonna stick to the 350mm Momo Tuner and fit a spacer.

I think it was a custom job from a company in japan... not sure... but i think it was being offered for sale on yahoo.jp...

Yes it is a Japanese project, offered in various finishes as an update to the OEM wheel on a core exchange basis ... a couple of years ago it was ~ £700
An alternative option is this ...

Which works well for me ... its the S2k VGS wheel ...

I hate flat-bottomed wheels - especially with twirly steering.
Bear in mind you'll need a USDM S2K wheel for the buttons, although I believe the module can be screwed on. Quite popular with 'Luders, that conversion.

These are quite useful for adding functions to a race steering wheel:

Sorry, but just looks terrible to me, cheap and boy racer looking; I've see these fitted in the lower position too, little better but just wouldn't be my thing at all. We all have our own tastes though.

hi mate
is this your car?
If it is ... i have to admit I am a bit shocked ... thought they would be more discreet than this!!!
Dont think I could live with that if honest; it does look rather out of place and dare i say it tacky
certainly NOT befitting to your car Conor

Are your machine guns fitted in the bumper centre vent or, one each side in the smaller ones?:)

Dam it Gary! You beat me to it!
I don't think it looks bad but it does look like the buttons for the machine guns on a spitfire.

Seen that done too, still doesn't look great, but that's just my opinion, its like something you see on a drift car.

Why don't you take your air fresheners that are dangling from your interior mirror off? It's not a Ford Capri! :)
Nah, I'm not under the precious illusion that the NSX is a classy car. It's a garish road-going 80's F1-lite car and F1 cars have boy racer controls on their steering wheels!
