I've been watching the Yen exchange rate. At first, new-old-boy Abe started making all the right noises: growth, inflation and buying foreign currency. Got to about 146yen, but in the last few days the Great British Pound is losing ground. :(

I assumed that was a rough figure, as the auction in in Japan, and the final figure payable would be calculated at the prevailing exchange rate?

Yes you are correct with this ... out of sheer curiosity I sent an email enquiring about this vehicle, the response I got was that it had sold within Japan. No other details were supplied.

I deal a lot with Mike at Torque GT - he often posts up the interesting cars he views at the Auctions. The Japanese Auctions are a law unto themselves - prices can vary massively from week to week. However, NSXs (of which there are a few for sale every week) get very strong money and I mean they go for more over there than what they would over here! So you can really forget about importing one unless the Yen takes a massive dive against the pound.

Spotted this Honda for sale at auction JAA 20/02/2013 The highest bid was 3.875 Million Yen (£27,300) but it did not sell. Decent NSX's are not cheap even in Japan :(

The starting bids on there are a red herring, bear no resemblence to the value of the item. And unfortunately very difficult to see what the end bid was
