After some searching I eventually found a company that can regas the pre 93 cars that may still have the old type gas.
I had mine done at weekend, excellent service, highly recommended.

Just off junc 30 M1
They will be able to help with any aircon problems as well,
Just thought it was worth posting this info.
Cheers Martyn.

Hi, Martyn.
Thank you for sharing your experience.
It is very useful and it would be nice if other owners from different areas can share their experience as well.
As our NSX is getting older, more and more, I found A/C related issues such as leakage from the R & L condenser joint, crack in welding, broken pipes, leakage from evaporator, etc and some of the owners asked me about reliable A/C specialist which I don’t know much in UK.
Most of the owners prefer to take their NSX to someone with NSX A/C experiences so any info would be appreciated.

Sorry to hijack but I'm considering removing the AC together on my 2002 facelift.
Anyone done this?

Following on from Kaz's post below, you will see that there is a pretty substantial write up about the A/C issues I had with my car on Sudesh's NSX Refresh section. The main failures on my A/C in a nutshell was:
A/C control unit board failure (repaired by Kaz)
A/C Compressor failure
A/C Evaporator unit replaced
A/C condensor replaced
A/C regas carried out by mobile a/c servicing business

Your mad!
You have allot more you could do for weight saving and power gain, instead of removing the A/C, even the NSX-R has the option of having A/C and most I've seen forsale had it.
I though about removing mine a few years back, but glad I didn't, the cabin is unbearable on a good warm day.

I would agree that, I don't have it (part of a weight delete program many years past) and it can get a bit warm. I know a few NSXers without it and think they would agree.

I would agree, a massive decision and one which I would not contemplate ... I travelled to France/Switzerland/Germany in my NSX without the a/c working and I tell you it got very difficult at times; since getting it repaired have never regretted costs, or going to the absolute hassle in repairing it.
also this would imply that you are keen to use it and perhaps do track days or something to actually get some payback on a big job/change to your car ... Not being funny or implying anything negative towards you but not sure you drive/use your car enough to benefit from such a mod?!
As stated please do not take above comment out of context ... Merely an honest and important question to answer for yourself let alone anyone else.

I would agree with the guys, wouldn't remove your air con as it's such a great thing to have on a really warm day.
Don't want to be putting your window down in an nsx either lol.
I have a wee mazda mx3 *** import that had air con, and I got it re-gassed a few years back then it leaked as the seals went
with probably with the newer type gas on the older 1992 type gas setup (now banned due to the effect on the ozone layer).
But as I drive a few cars I live without it but it was great on a really hot day as it was ice cold inside :) so it's a great option to have.

I bet you weren't doddling either lol, especially in Germany on the autobahn :)

I think those of us who have spent time and money fixing our AC systems will have been shaking our heads in disbelief at reading this!

I never use it to be honest and I'm sure it needs an overhaul anyway.
It's just a power-sapping lump of unnecessary weight to me.
Maybe next time I'll ask the opposite question to the one I want the answer to though.
That's would seem to be the way it works on good old NSXCB!
