Hopefully no more ALB / TCS Errors...

Just came back from work and all four abs sensors have turned up...

last year i cleaned the sensor and checked it with a multimeter and it was working ok. when i put it back in the car there were no more errors.
so i assumed the sensor had a an intermittent fault. but after a few months the same error came back so i ordered all four sensors fro US just in case for future problems.

Still had ALB Error 44 and TCS error 44 after replacing the rear right sensor yesterday.

So I declared WAR on the ALB TCS light.

I have now modified my Multimeter connectors with Honda Pins instead of the standard probes

Then I plugged one end on to the sensor connector and other on to the control unit side connector
there was continuity on the Green/red wire but there was a problem with Blue/Yellow



traced each loom one by one and found an intermittent connection on this connector in the boot

after a lot of checking and re-checking found the problem....

There was a broken pin in the connector that was bugging me since I had the car...

Congratulations on sorting out the problem.

It’s not the first time I saw this typical non-WPC 090 terminal failure.
The most popular case is the one at the door lock/unlock switch connector behind the door card.

It is easy to get moisture behind the door card but for some reason, Honda used non-WPC instead of WPC.
The corrosion from the moisture will eventually break the centre contact plate, exactly like in your photo.
Before this happens, the terminal will show green debris or loose its silver colour first.

For this reason, whenever I open the door card for the owners, I will apply silicone grease inside the connector of door lock switch.

If this issue happened inside your boot, it suggests that at some point, your boot had lots of moisture inside.
If it is still wet, you may see moisture inside your tail light assy if the gasket behind the unit got tired.


Thank you for sharing this info.
I may need to check that connector inside the boot and apply the same treatment as the door lock switch.

Hi, Amrit.

I only use small amount and not using anything special.
I just get 'Dow Corning DC4' whenever I order the electrical parts from 'Farnell UK'.

If you shop around, it could be cheaper but for me, time is money so including it at the same time with other orders and next day delivery has higher priority.

It’s also very effective on rubber weather strip around the door opening, targa roof, etc so I just apply it every few months.
