How many miles do you do a year in your NSX? :)

Well, i thought it would be interesting to see how many miles people have actually done in their NSX?

The reason I ask is that I had my MOT today...passed with flying colours :) but the mileage between a year ago and now is only 304 miles........i dont know whether i should feel proud or feel that we had a really bad year of weather and not enough opportunities to get the NSX out......:(


anyone done less? or more?

You really need to put more mileage.

Next month, my NSX will be 19 years old and I have just hit 142,500 miles on the clock so on average, about 7,500 miles per annum.
However, these days, I’m only doing about 4,500 – 5,000 miles.
It’s my every day car so driven in all sorts of weather conditions, I’m the sole owner from Day1 of this NSX and I still enjoy every moment driving it.

In a year and a half of ownership, i have done approx 12k miles ('98 NSX now on 103k). First month about 2k! The last 3 months it has been my daily drive and have covered 3k. I have been rebuilding my 2nd gen crx engine thats on 180k, which will thankfully soon be complete (fingers crossed).

Cars are definately for driving and may I say what a pleasure both have been!

yeah definitely something I need to improve on. I do turn the car over every two weeks for about 20mins or so, but I should extend this to just driving it :)

I think the conclusion is most people drive their Nsx s for the purpose they were built for :)

I average 3000 miles a year. ( 6 months parked every year due to winter). Last year I put 4000 on in one trip. Edmonton AB to Denver and back. The car loves those trips. It always seems to run better after a workout.

In 8 years I have done over 50k, which I did feel a bit guilty about. But this looks quite normal compared to you all. In fact 500 miles per month seems just fine.

So between 2012 and 2019 I was doing about 2K miles a year, I then manged 1K miles for the next MoT in June 2020. Then for the MoT done this month, (nearly 2 years later) I've manged just over 200 miles, of which 10% was driving to the garage for the MoT! (If you are wondering it passed the MoT with out a single problem).

And IM guessing from your post though then pus it away with the chassis and brakes etc still wet … at least drive it around the block to blow of the residual washing/hosing water … you’ll creat more issue for yourself if you dont …

And as with your other post about turning it over and letting it run (in the garage) for 20 minutes, it would be far healthier for the NSX if you just drive it for 20 minutes …

Whatever you do, enjoy it … as for my mileage … C-19 and lack of meets have meant little mileage last two yrs, certainly sub1k … however this year is already of to a great start having clocked 1400 in past 6 weeks … and I have the NC500 later in the year which will add at least another 1500 so going to be a great year … and as Kaz says, I smile everytime I drive mine …

I do 5K every year, apart from 2020, 2K of those are usually a Euro trip, taking in some of the 'Driving Roads', Europe has to offer. This year's is planned to be the Black Forest B500 & any suitable roads in that area. The car is used daily during the summer months, alternating it weekly with the S2000. It's now done over 190K miles, which I guess could be one of the highest of any car in the forum.

My car has averaged 2050 miles / year over 32 years. But now that I have two NSXs, I only put on 500-1000 miles a year. (2 -3 tanks of fuel.)

In the early days (for me at least; 2005) about 8-10k per year. In the last 4 years around 500 miles a year if that. Depressing when you think about it. Why? A mixture of rising values, not having a garage for 3 years, so the car being in storage and the total lack of anywhere to take it. To clarify this, I mean nowhere within 100 miles. When I first got into these cars, there was a group of us who would organise events, meet up at weekends and contribute to the forum regularly. I guess life gets in the way and the interests take a back seat. Most of those people have moved on. I suppose that nothing is forever. I also find car shows a bit of a conflict; I like meeting up and chatting, but in another way I find it a bit vain. Oh my fragile little mind!

So back in May I’d already covered 1400 miles … since then I’ve added almost the same again with a couple of trips to Goodwood, a few runs with some like minded enthusiasts and the recent Essex meet and runs … this weekend the NSX is in the shop for its AC service and repair before being treated to another oil change in preparation for the NC500 …

Hi Paul.....what needs doing to your AC?

I bit the bullet and had the system overhauled on Y1 last year - with the front bumper coming off, it's quite a performance!

I knew one of the condensers was shot, so had new replacements for both. But when the AC guy got in there a couple of the pipes were also suspect. One I managed to order from Japan, the other was unavailable everywhere, so had to be refabricated from scratch!

I hope things go more smoothly for you!!!

About 2k so far this year. Took it up the hill at Prescott, Silverstone Classic and a few days in the Yorkshire Dales with a friend who has an F Type. Needless to say the NSX got more attention than the Jag :). Driving in the Dales was fun.

OMG have just got the car MoT'd again and looking at the Mileage history for 2023 I did an extra 52 miles and for 2024 I've only done 22 miles! No wonder it felt so odd driving it to the Honda dealer! But it's now had a full service and I will be taking it to Europe shortly so will probably have over 40K miles by the time I get back. :(

I do 5000 miles a year & have done for the 8 years of ownership. This year will see my car achieve 200,000 miles. Less use during the winter months but that's usually when I do any renovation. I also do the same mileage a year, in my S2000 & it will pass 140,000 miles this year. Both are driven like they should be, pointless having VTEC & not using at every possible opportunity.....:D:D

Mine has done about 20,000km in the 9 years that I have owned it. It has been used for supermarket shopping, but is mostly used for weekend drives and the occasional longer trip, mostly in the summer months.
VTEC is exercised at every opportunity, plus the brakes get a workout too.

And after so many years of driving autos (including radar adaptive cruise control in the EV), my left leg has turned into puny string. It was a bit of a workout, especially with the non-PAS steering. :rolleyes:

That's what I love about them, no unnecessary electronics, screens to trawl through, to find the feature you want but then give up coz you can't find it.....
