Notchy gear change when cold.

I didn't notice it when I test drove the car I bought because it would have been warmed up but, from cold, 1st to 2nd and back can be quite notchy, at least until the car warms up. I therefore have to be careful as I change low gears for the first 15 mins or so or there can be a bit of a crunch. I guess it's almost like driving an 80s - early 90s Ferrari.

I have followed some of the discussion on NSX Prime and some owners claim it to be common place to have such notchiness. Others talk about using various specialist gearbox oils and I seem to remember that Redline was one of those mentioned.

Does anyone out there experience the same problem? If so, did you just learn to live with it or did you find a solution, perhaps through use of a specialist oil?

My car has done <65k, fHSH and recent gearbox oil change (don't know what type of oil). It was first registered in 97. It's a 5 speeed.

it is indeed a common complaint with the NSX

I think this problem is certainly more prevalent during the winter when things take longer to warm up.
have you tried coming out of first into neutral then moving the gearstick right across the H then back again then into second? This technique works fine with mine.
But as Darren said and from the research I've done, it is a common issue which seems to affect a lot of NSX's when cold.
I know some guys who change from first to third until everything is warm, but I hear that this can wear the synchro faster?
