Sadly Jonathan you are right prices are up between 10 and nearly 20% over last year.
Hopefully the money will go towards improving facilities and the Fri/Sat entertainment. If you buy the Early bird tickets they are about the same as the standard tickets from last year, don't forget that part of the deal is 2 for the price of one for Clubs so we do better than "Joe public".
What other major motoring event can you buy tickets for 2 people for all 3 days at this price?
I will post the club discount code as soon as I get it - the big question is, how many cars can we get there this year ?

A mention by the organisers
As we mentioned yesterday, so far over 80 car clubs have registered for this year’s event. We have done a quick tally up and we estimate over 8,000 classic cars will be on display at the 2014 Silverstone Classic.
Yesterday we announced the Ferrari Owners Club’s presence and now we move from the Italian marque to a company in the Far East. The NSXCB were one of the first clubs to announce its presence at this year’s Classic, where approximately 30 Honda NSX’s will gather under the rising sun at Silverstone this July.
The mid-engine, real wheel drive sports car designed by Pininfarina was in production between 1990 and 2005. The NSX was the first production car to feature an all-aluminium monocoque body, which incorporated a revolutionary aluminium alloy frame and suspension. The car was developed by notable Formula One drivers of the time including, Satoru Nakajima and the late great Ayrton Senna who was responsible for the superb handling of the Japanese sports car.
We look forward to welcoming the NSXCB to this year’s show.

Music Line Up for Silverstone Classic Announced http://us5.campaign-archive2.com/?u=4f77c64c602ee311b5bf81f89&id=fb3be1035d&e=c01317a4ad
ON THE ROAD AGAIN…
• Woodstock legends Canned Heat rock up at Silverstone Classic
• Bonnie Tyler tops Saturday evening’s music bill
• Aerosmith, Eagles and Motown tribute bands stir up party atmosphere
Two great names from rock and pop history – Canned Heat and Bonnie Tyler – will headline the live music bill at this year’s award-winning Silverstone Classic (25-27 July).
Formed nearly 50 years ago in California, Canned Heat remains one of the world’s most famous boogie rock groups – and a timeless band that never fails to deliver.
The blues based American outfit was one of the stars of the legendary Woodstock festival at the height of the hippie era and songs such as ‘Going up the Country’ and ‘On the Road Again’ remain rock classics to this day. Though founder members Bob Hite and Alan Wilson have passed away, two of the surviving members from the Woodstock era – bassist Larry Taylor and drummer Fito de la Parra – are still rolling back the years and continuing to wow audiences around the globe.
Friday evening’s bill topping performance at the Silverstone Classic will be the band’s only UK appearance in 2014 and comes as the finale to a busy European tour that includes dates in Switzerland, Germany and Belgium. This is a rare UK appearance for Canned Heat as the band hasn't toured in the UK for more than a decade.
Then on Saturday the live music stage sees Bonnie Tyler topping the line-up. Often referred to as the ‘International First Lady of Rock’, Tyler shot to prominence in the late Seventies and early Eighties with a string of hit singles including: ‘Lost in France’; ‘More than a Lover’; ‘Total Eclipse of the Heart’ and ‘Holding Out for a Hero’. Since then her distinctive, husky voice has featured on numerous albums and singles and last year her song ‘Believe in Me’ was the UK’s entry for the Eurovision Song Contest.
Silverstone Classic festival goers will also be treated to a host of other familiar favourites from three top tribute bands. Aerosmith Big Ones and the Ultimate Eagles will be performing with Canned Heat on Friday while Bonnie Tyler will be supported by Signed Sealed and Delivered: A Motown Revue. Performing soul classics by idols such as Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, the Four Tops and Michael Jackson, their Motown music set will amplify the special 50-year celebrations for the iconic Ford Mustang. Rising stars Mo Evans and the Jim Stapley band are also on Saturday’s live music bill.
“It’s shaping up to be another huge ‘Rocking and Racing’ summer for the Silverstone Classic,” admitted Nick Wigley, event director. “There will be more bumper grids of historic racing cars and we’ve already had a record number of car clubs signing up for displays. But while the cars will always be the stars, live music has always been a key part of the family entertainment on offer, notably for those staying at Silverstone for the entire festival weekend. We’ve had some great bands performing in recent years and I’m thrilled that we can now add the names of Canned Heat and Bonnie Tyler to those of Adam Ant, Mike & the Mechanics, Santana, Suzi Quatro, the Hollies, 10cc and the Yardbirds.”
All tickets to the Silverstone Classic give free access to the live music concerts on both Friday and Saturday evenings as well as racing paddocks and trackside grandstands. Tickets must be purchased in advance. Those booking before the end of March can take full advantage of special ‘Early Bird’ prices with adult entrance starting from just £33 (including booking fees). Considerable savings are also on offer for those spending the full weekend at Silverstone and special packages for car clubs and their members are available. Full details can be found on the official www.silverstoneclassic.com website.

Once you have entered the club code C14001, you will see the following;
You entered code C14001.
1 ccd package includes 2x adult event tickets and 1 infield vehicle display pass
The price of the CCD package are displayed as follows;
3 DAY WEEKEND TICKET - CCD PACKAGE
£95.00
2 DAY FRI & SAT TICKET - CCD PACKAGE
£70.00
2 DAY SAT & SUN TICKET - CCD PACKAGE
£80.00
FRIDAY TICKET - CCD PACKAGE
£39.00
SATURDAY TICKET - CCD PACKAGE
£60.00
SUNDAY TICKET - CCD PACKAGE
£55.00
So, for example, if you are taking just 1 x NSX with max 2 people in the car for Sat & Sun, you just need to select (purchase) ' 1 ' for the '2 DAY SAT & SUN TICKET – CCD PACKAGE'.
It will cost GBP80 (no need to pay GBP160) and comes with 2 x adult tickets + 1 x Infield Club Display parking pass.
On the ticketing website, below the CCD PACKAGE tickets, there are many standard entry tickets displayed.
They are there in case you want to just buy additional tickets as it will be cheaper under several conditions if you are not bringing your 2nd or 3rd NSX to the club stand.
If you want to visit the event in your NSX or in other models but prefer VIP hospitality like F1 paddock club, then there are several different packages available as well.

I haven't attended this event before but would like to do so this year. I've had a look at the ticketing information and it reads,
"You have entered the code for NSXCB. Please note that your vehicle pass will only be valid for a vehicle registered with
NSXCB and with the registration number you enter on the following page."
How does the club register the cars attending, does someone collate the registration numbers and inform the organisers? I don't want to be refused entry at the gate if car is not registered.
Any info from those who have attended before would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Tony.

"You have entered the code for NSXCB. Please note that your vehicle pass will only be valid for a vehicle registered with

the answer is in your post... you input the reg number, make and model on the next page on the booking site. the car you register with silverstone is the NSX you turn up in!
silverstone then knows how many NSX are going and allocates the appropriate space, the club is internet based so all you do is mention your interest here! previous years we've had 'surprise' NSX's on the stand that had entered but not mentioned it here! just having the NSXCB code means you have some NSXCB connection!
basically it's an NSX on the NSXCB stand and that's all that matters...
hope that helps

As of today......
The 'Advance Ticket' is for the general admission without the NSXCB Car Pass for the club stand.
It includes the public parking but you won't be able to get your car to the club stand.
If I read their homepage correctly, you can only attend the event by purchasing the ticket in advance and not on the day.
The 'Early Bird Ticket' is no longer available as the cut off time was at the end of May.
This is the one if you ordered the CCD package (two tickets with 2-4-1 deal plus NSXCB car pass) and will be able to park inside the circuit at the NSXCB club stand.
Based on the purchase experience for other events, when you placed the order through the 'See Tickets' web site, you should have received the confirmation email with reference no. for your order.
If you created your own account with them, you can track the status of your tickets by logging into your account.
Or, if you visit their Customer Service page; https://www.seetickets.com/customerservice and enter the reference no. and your post code, you can check the status of your tickets.
Addition to the general status such as 'We are in the process of despatching tickets for this event' (as you can see in the above screenshot), you will see additional info for your specific ticket.
Typically, it will be shown as follows;
- We are in the process of despatching tickets for this event.
- Tickets are in stock and will be despatched shortly to the address provided.
- Your tickets were prepared for despatch on ****. Tickets will typically leave our office the same day.

I've got a spare Sunday ticket if anyone's interested - £20, but collection only on Saturday day at S'stone, or Sat night / Sun morning from Stratford upon Avon (it's the 2nd-half of a 2-day ticket).
Also got a 2nd car-park pass for the club area that I don't need...only thing is it's got my daily driver's reg # on as I needed to put a # plate down - does anyone know if you can hand-overwrite these...suppose you can.

Looks like you missed the window for changing the reg. no. of the car pass online but still have the chance to do so in person by visiting the 'Ticket Collection' located at Car Park 50A.
It's the one at the roundabout of Main Silverstone entrance.

Really looking forward to attending the Classic for the first time. Some questions for those with experience of this event would help with planning. What time is it advisable to arrive at the circuit? Is there a particular entry we should use for the club parking area? Is there unlimited access to the pits? Generally what not to miss and what not to bother with!
Thanks,
Tony.

As another Chelmsford boy; the organisers stated wish is for the club cars to be in place by 09:30 with no infield movement between 10:00 and 17:00. The entry details are with the ticket information, the gate, route and times.
There is unlimited access to the [open] grand stands and the paddocks, this includes the pit communal garages at the National Paddock, the pit garages at the International Paddock are not as communal so space and access is more restrictive, there is however zero access to the pit lane. Our pitch is behind the 'National [Short circuit] Paddock', the International [GP circuit] Paddock is a free bus ride away, the programme will tell you which grids are parked where.
That aside, as to what time to get there; the earlier you are, the shorter the time spent queuing to get in.
What to do, where to go - it all rather depends on your own interests, technical, racing, shopping or socialising. See you there.

Well it would seem the organisers have decided that having Honda marquees is too commercial for a club stand, this could be the last year we are able to use what Honda very generously donate to us. In order to comply with the terms of future events we will need either to buy our own marquee, or at least get NSX banners made that can be used to cover the "Honda Power of dreams" signage.
I am seriously fed up with dealing with petty minded people who seem to forget that we are part of their event and without club support they would lose foot fall and income from club members.
But I will enjoy the weekend and the chance to talk to everyone.

I believe we have club funds that could potentially be used to cover this (from generous Platinum members). Maybe a deal could be struck with Honda for next year for a marquee with 'NSX' instead of Honda....especially as the new car is supposed to be launched in 2015 (might need to be fireproof!). We could offer a small contribution towards it? Just an idea...

How large does the banner need to be to cover 'P oF Dreams'? Would the current NSXCB banner suffice? Happy to discuss further on Sunday

Rich and I are meeting A12 \ A130 around 7.20
Think were picking Mark & Phil around 7.40 as we join M25 anti-clockwise (rolling pick-up)
Take in a couple of tunnel runs - be rude not too :D
I usually peel off M25 ayt London Colney junction and nip across to rejoin M1 North bound at Hemel ... breaks up the motorway
So traffic permitting around 8.10 \ 8.15 would be my guess ...
Would make for an interesting convey color wise if we all meet up ....

A massive thanks to Mike (Sorepaws) for all of his hard work in organising Honda to support us for another year, dealing with the Sikverstone politics, and for supporting and coordinating over the weekend
A heart felt thanks to Dave and Elaine (Kingsley) without whom we would never have been able to make the event on Saturday
A very grateful thanks to Kaz for putting our mind at ease about the car
It was great to catch up with everyone and apart from the hot sun it was the same fantastic weekend we have all come to expect. It was so nice to see do many cars today, let's hope that next year we can beat our highest number of NSXs at a meet as we celebrate the NSX anniversary.

Finally back in the mix ...
I had a great day on Sunday ... a early start, a mini convoy, a good trun out of NSX and of course all the wonderful owners who Ive missed for almost 2 yrs due to various personal issues.
My NSX is back to its original Magnum Grey glory, and was rewarding as ever to drive. Thanx go out to Mike for all his efforts, to Mark for access to some important details ;o) and to Kaz for his expert attention to detail as always.
The drive home took me south on the M1 that was grinding to a halt around J13 but for me this was OK I was always intending to avoid the motorway from there homewards. I enjoy the A507 cross country to Bishops Stortford, then the A120 and finally the A130 back to home. If you've never tried this route across country I highly receommend it. It was made all the better thanx to the mini-conveys of other classics also enjoying cross country travels. Safely home, Daddy stuff completed I sat down and enjoyed a good F1 race ...
I took a few photos so will endeavour to upload later ...

Saddened though to hear that the driver who crashed in the pre 66 Grand Prix cars race died in the medical centre at the circuit. The long delay once the race had been stopped and the arrival of the air ambulance didn't bode well at the time.

Just an idea to perhaps to Ian and Sharon who organise the pancake run.... What about a late pancake run, Fri & Sat with Sunday at Silverstone? Two birds/one stone but maybe offers something comparable to what they have done this year?

I was thinking something similar, especially if we want to lure some guys from the European crowd.
I think the track parade is fixed for the Saturday and the Silverstone event is Fri, Sat and Sunday. I don't think it is very fair to arrange other things on these days that Mike who has made all the effort in arranging the event for the club, would then not be able to attend or removing support for these days.
If we can get things organised early we could possibly look at booking a venue to accommodate all people wishing to stay over and then build more things from that?

On Ian and Sharons recomendation we stayed at the Holiday Inn Express at Loake Close Northampton just off junction 15 M1 fantastic . Great venue if looking to accommodate club members wishing to stay over.... 300 ish rooms , Very clean, nice rooms, great breakfast included, massive safe car park. BMW owners club and various teams stay there. We will book again for next year. Maybe Ian & Sharon can work there magic and block book for Friday and Saturday night.

I forgot about the parade being on the Saturday! My idea is certainly not to step on the toes or spoil the effort Mike puts into organising the Silverstone event. I'm not sure of many "safe" driving roads near Silverstone for a largish group of cars hence a first thought suggestion of incorporating the Welsh roads ala Pancake run. Maybe the Euro crown would enjoy all three days at Silverstone maybe not but I think a few days driving would be a necessary lure as well to make the trip worth their effort? Will they all handle driving on the left side as well as we do the right ;-)
So perhaps a few days before or after Silverstone might work but that ends up being weekdays...I have no idea. Like I was saying before, discuss or suggestions/ideas.....

I'd had similar thoughts...both about poaching S'stone Classic attendance, lack of suitable Midlands roads and the relative proximity of Wales (albeit with rather more (and less tolerant) trafpol than Germany...). Venue pre-booking is a very good idea though, esp. if we're looking at 30+ UK owners already!
