It wasn't so much for my benefit as for all the lurkers out there. I would love a white one as well but I can't afford the divorce which would follow.

Good luck Nigel. It shouldn't need to be advertised on PH. It's so unique there should be a queue for it.
Cheers,
James.

Where did I put that lottery ticket?!? ;)
I'll offer an almost-certainly redundant 'good luck with the sale' Nigel - hope the new one treats you as well as this one has!

Surprised you needed to list it here! Thought you would have had a list of phone numbers from people asking to buy it already.
IMHO the best looking NSX in the UK.
So after dropping the tease, what's the new car going to be?

Good luck Nigel, but this being the best looking NSX in the UK, you don't need any.

Good luck with the sale. The colour doesn't float my boat, but those fugly facelifts sell like hot cakes, so I'm sure it will do well. ;)

Good luck with the sale. Lovely colour. My black NSX sold for £58000 after three months and it had 37000 miles so think carefully about the price before putting it on pistonheads

Good luck Nigel. Car markets can be fickle, but £70K seems a good price for a very rare car. Platinum pearl with red interior. One of the last 12, one owner and one of a kind. That spec might exist in Japan, but at a much higher premium.
Marky, no offence meant in any way, but people tend to buy these cars with investment in mind. Which means they usually want a completely original car. If you'd left the original interior in place, I think you might have realised a better price.
The other factor seems to be adverts. A good prep and good photos make a lot of difference to the traffic you get on PH.
Cheers.

Michael took the photos for my advert and priced the car at £62,995 for a good period of time. I ended up taking £58,000 from Phil as he was a serious buyer and also bought my 993 Turbo. I think that serious collectors want cars with much lower miles than my car had (37000 miles) or the pearl white car has.

I think you have a point. However, how many RHD facelift cars exist outside Japan? More so, how many exist that you'd want to own? Agreed, Nigel's car is not low mileage. Meaning it's not in the teens. But I think the NSX has a few things going for it that some other marquee do not.
First of all and as mentioned above. The sheer lack of numbers. Second, they are renown for being extremely robust.
As they age, mileage will become secondary anyway. Sure there will be a few delivery mileage cars locked away. But the bulk will have been used. Take a look at the prices and the mileage of early NA1 cars at the moment.
Interestingly, and a little off on a tangent. I saw a boxster spyder on PH just over a year ago for £30k. It had 30,000 miles on it. High for that model at the time. Now cars with 40,000 miles are being advertised at high 30's. You could have bought that car driven it for a year and made another £5-7K when you sold it.
My point is that mileage will always play a part in the relative price of a car. However, this becomes somewhat less relevant as time goes on and those low mileage cars become few and far between. I've seen a lot of collectors cars over the years, especially E30 M3's and few of these were low mileage, but still retained a very good values.
another good example is the CSL. A year or so ago, a 60k mile car was making low 20's. Now they're up around the low to mid 30's. 996 GT3's have done a similar thing. But that has a bit to do with the 991!
The savvy long term collector of looking for an investment or God forbid a driving experience! will buy the interesting models whether it be variant, colour, spec, history etc. They will also be Looking for the well maintained cars that do not have a crash history. But I guess many of the crashed but not registered cars will be reinvented as in undamaged as time goes on.
Cheers.

Although this NSX has more miles on the clock, you would never know from its condition but what makes this really special is it is the only UK car in original Pearl white.
I may be wrong but I am not aware of another uk car that came from the factory painted white. The white R I don't believe was officially a UK car and I would expect that to be priced way over £70K.
Although your car was a very nice example I would say this car is a bit more rare and white is probably a more desirable colour to justify the extra price, but as is regularly stated, the proof will be what someone is prepared to pay.
