OK lads,

Yes i'm still looking for the last few bits for my headlight washer install but this time i'm looking for one that may be even harder to get my fat hands on.

I've the chance for a set of Type-R seats with mounts and motors but they need covers.

I only want the drivers side seat for final install, (LHD) so that lets the r/s seat up for grabs.
Should be good for RHD car if one only wants a single Type-R drivers seat like me.

Any leads will be appreciated before I bother the Kaz.
I'd like to find a used set but in great shape to try and avoid the expense of a new set if they are even available. That may be way to much for me to afford and i'd like not to miss out on them.

Cheers

Do you know if they came out of NA1 or NA2 as I think they are differences ...

Is it just the covers that are different Paul?

I think that the actual seats are all the same - just the different covers for NA1-R, NA2-R and Type S.

I was under the impression that you could only get seat covers from the Refresh Programme in Japan - I may well be wrong though...

I have seen some crop up on yahoo japan auctions

or

I generally use buyee.jp to search and rinkya to bid for and ship the items. I have managed to buy quite a few things this way!

I have never compared it side by side so don't know whether the shell is the same or not among the different type. Should be able to confirm it by checking the sticker at the back of the shell.
There is difference in the cover material/finish between the NA1 Type-R and NA2 NSX-R.

You can’t buy just the cover that came on the NA1 Type-R seat and you will be asked to buy the whole lot including the shell.

For NA2 NSX-R, you can buy the cover, cushion, back, etc separately without the shell but you may be asked to show the registration document from time to time to prove that you own the NSX-R.

Not sure how you are going to mount the seat rail or convert it but please note that the mount/rail of NA1 Type-R Left side seat (passenger for RHD) doesn’t even slide and it’s completely fixed mechanism.

The left side seat mount/rail on NA2 NSX-R has power slide mechanism so I hope that’s the one you have access to.

Hi there,

I had a set of 92 NSX-R JDM seats and both sides had the power slide mechanism.
But maybe it was a prototype

You can buy the older Recaro buckets and mount the newer covers from 02+ NSX-R
The buckets are the same.

I had both versions here and finally I decided to install the newer version into my car.

All NSX-R cf seat buckets were produced in Germany, you can see the production date and the exact weight with 3 digits behind the point at each bottom side of the seat.

I don't have them in my possession at this moment but i'll ask the bloke to have a look see and let me know which model they came from.
Sorry lads, I didn't realize they were different between model of Type-R or I would have included that info.

I'll get back as soon a he lets me know.
