Hi there,

I am looking to buy an early 1991 and noticed on the vin plate that is in the front of the car under the 'bonnet', it says 'Type (France)' on the far right hand side next to the text 'NA1 Version 15'. It's a UK car I am sure and I was wondering if there was some sort of VIN decoder to double check - or even if the VIN info says the country it is destined for at all?

Or has anyone else with an early UK car seen the same?

Thanks,

Jeff

PS the VIN number is JHMNA1 1500T000839 if this helps?!

Just looked at my NSX and it's a 1991 uk car number 160. It also says type France on the VIN plate under the bonnet.

Bloody French...:) Maybe it was the Honda way of defining a car destined for Europe....?

Vin plate decoder for US cars

If you are seeking background info the Wiki tab from nsxprime is a useful source of information.
If you have particular concerns the chassis number on the riveted vin plate should match the hard stampings on [edit: certain place of the chassis].
