What's this cover hiding?

Technical to me!

I'm gradually refurbishing the corroded and rusty brackets at the front of the car. One final bracket holds this black box. Question is can I remove the box from the bracket without any problems? Not sure what's under the black cover?

that blacks box contains the cars flight recorder...... :)

... actually it contains the cruise control gubbins. the cover does come off if you undo the right fixings, to reveal the magic beneath. as with most things, take it slow and don't force anything!

Thanks Jonathan, it's the mounting bracket I want to get at which is quite rusty. Will take it slow as you suggest.
