Call me cynical but I did say this would happen, even though this is now advertised as the official British motor show on the Thursday of FOS.
And it's now over 6 months since the official world premier launch and still no official performance figures nor working car.

Never mind there's always another year:)
I'm so so looking forward to looking over the body shape again even though it hasn't really changed for about 4 years!!!!
And those carbon ceramic brakes look so so powerful, just a shame the car doesn't actually run or move to show how powerful.:)

My understanding is that Honda are offering passenger rides in the new Civic Type R, not drives. Which again, given some of the other machinery being offered for selected individuals to drive up the hill, is curious.

I think the answer is HUK don't have a clue about modern marketing / customer engagement. Christ knows we've seen this enough with their attitude to us - every once in a while they cast around for someone to lend them an NSX for some event, yet the rest of the time we're thoroughly ignored and treated as cash-cows by the Parts Department...

Hi Noel, I also went today and I've got to admit the Honda stand was even far more disappointing than last year.
On my first attempt to get upstairs to the VIP area in order to see the NSX I spoke with the 2 moody security guys at the foot of the stairs. No matter what I said or did they would not let us through.
Not one to give up easily I then decided to seek out a senior Honda sales guy, not just one of the many boys and girls working, or do I mean walking, around on the stand.
After a short chat complementing him on such a great Honda display stand(not) I told him how disappointed I was at not being able to see the NSX in the flesh even though I had owned one for many years, to which he said if I could show proof of ownership he would ensure I would be allowed upstairs without a VIP pass.
Instantly out came my iPhone to show loads of pictures of my car which he then duelly accepted as proof and gladly escorted my partner and I straight past the 2 Herbert's who flatly refused us earlier.
Up stairs, we sat at the bar with a nice cold drink while gazing over what he said was the only working NSX in Europe, I then told him about the testing going on at the Nurburgring this week with another NSX to which he claimed to know nothing about and insisted the car in front of us was the only working example in Europe.
The car itself is completely fenced off in such a way that it's impossible to walk around, you literally just get to look at the front of the car and that's it. Fortunately I had a long selfie stick which enabled me to reach out as far as possible to photo the carbon brakes and corner of the drivers window, hopefully taking some interior shots through the glass with my GoPro.
Although very grateful to having seen it I can't help thinking what a let down it all was, very limited cramped space, badly lit viewing area and again like last year treating it like the great white elephant it is but this year even more so.
Imho Honda UK marketing department should take a long hard look at this poor display of what is supposed to be a world class technological tour de force instead of hiding it away in a corner on the top floor of what looks like a kiddies play pen of a stand.
Just remember to take photographic proof of your car to see what I mean.

What another great Honda UK marketing strategy c**k up, this is for the car Honda just don't want you to see.:(
Oh, I forgot to mention in my earlier post, the man in charge I spoke with yesterday told me that this car had not been started up since arriving in the UK and is pushed about when ever it needs to be moved. Very very odd!!!!
No wonder they don't want anyone near it, I reckon it's a non working, non finished model.

If the Great British public came hoping to see this car in the flesh at this, the new home of the British Motor Show and found this abysmal display for the NSX, imagine what they must think now.
All credibility with serious performance car enthusiasts must have been seriously damaged.
I cannot think of another manufacturer in all the years I've been going to a motor show, and that's over 40 years, where the star attraction of a marque is hidden from public eyesight and even when you do get passed the OTT security you still see very little with some dumb answers to simple questions thrown in for good measure.
This is the great white elephant called NSX.:(

i'm guessing you are disappointed with Honda, it's subtle, but i'm picking it up!!! :)
they will release it when it's good and ready. history is littered with cars that have been let out of the design office too early and have been dogged with problems that have damaged the company far more than making people wait for the final product!
unless you're on the waiting list it doesn't matter (though i know some here are!), it increases the mystique and exclusivity of the NSX brand, and drags us up with it.... all good!! :)
another pic i found...

But it is good and ready I believe.
There are several new nsx cars that are ready and as you know one is even going up Pikes Peak as a pace car this week!!!
HUK on the other hand arrange for a "pusher" to come over to the FoS, so too right I'm disappointed, even if I don't have one on order I'm still entitled to be a little bit cheesed, why not have the one that's been thrashed in Germany.
One fantastic run up the Goodwood hill with a fully prepared car would have done wonders for Hondas, imho, flagging high performance car reputation while putting the mystique back into not only the model itself but also the company brand.
I think I said this last year so I might as well say it again this:
OH WELL THERES ALWAYS ANOTHER YEAR.:(
You never know, maybe HUK will allow us to look in the window or even touch the bodywork next year.:), but don't hold your breath.

I'm really not convinced that it does. The market place is more crowded now, with (depending on finalised price of NSX) GTR, R8, Lambo, 911, Ferrari, Ford GT, Mercedes GT and lots others. The very few people that had an interest in buying one when new NSX was first mooted (this was two iterations of Ferrari ago - 430-458-488) have probably gone on to buy something else. Honda should have had one screaming up the hill - a real opportunity missed.

I know we have had a long weight for the new NSX but I think some comments are a bit harsh. I wasn't specifically looking but not sure if there were any other manufacturers that were allowing unrestricted access to a car that hasn't actually been released to customers yet. The Ford GT was certainly also displayed in a glass box (And on looks certainly gets my vote over the NSX).
I found the Honda stand to be very helpful. At the mention of being a NSX owner I was shown around to the access staircase, introduced to a chap dealing with the area and escorted up to the car with time to ask any questions I wished, although as we all know, their knowledge of the new car is probably less than most of ours! I was offered a drink, and allowed to remain in the hospitality area to watch some of the track action and just asked that if I would please leave if it got busy as they were expecting a big group.
Like Jonathon, I do understand the stand theme of after several years of dull cars they now have some 'toys in the box' .
It would have been good to see an NSX go up the hill, especially as it was suggested to happen last year, but it would have to go up the hill at full pace. If the car is not quite ready how bad would it be to see it driven at 75% or even worse, burst into flames like the one at the Nurburgring!

Just my 2p's worth....whilst I was openly critical of last years shambles of a Honda stand, I though this years was really rather good.
Someone compared it unfavourably earlier in this thread to the Tesla stand. Really? If I was looking at the same Tesla stand - black tent, some grey carpet and 2 cars - it was hardly inspirational! What was inspirational was the Tesla used in the Supercar run today - I didn't see anything accelerate as quickly as that thing all day - mind boggling! But I digress - credit where credits due, I thought the Honda stand was one of the best at Goodwood - nice, albeit quirky, concept, well executed. Of course it was a shame that the NSX was tucked away upstairs, but a nice lady took me up to see it when I asked and was absolutely insistent that this wasn't a 'low key' Goodwood for the new NSX (I begged to differ!) I also was given a drink, some nuts and an event program.
Thank you Honda.

I could be wrong but I was always under the impression that the personnel on the Honda stand are employed by a marketing company and not directly by Honda, which explains their lack of knowledge.
Never understood why you would promote new products with people who don't have the appropriate knowledge or passion for the products though.

Yes it seems its the same the world over. They had a white one at the Australian GP in Melbourne in March. Luckily we could walk right around it and get up real close. It looked like a finished car inside but who knows re mechanicals. Anyway the guys on the stand were from a marketing company not Honda, so no info more than the nice booklet they handed out.

Don't understand that bit myself, though you might hope that HUK will do something when they get some real cars available - maybe host a day at a track with a couple of the new NSXs, invitees only to include current (and maybe previous :)) NSX owners, with a view to generating orders for the new car. I guess it's too early at the moment.
That said, my pal runs http://gt101.co.uk, which deals with Ford GTs. He said he'd be at the Ford stand on Thursday so we popped up to see him, and they had the new GT (well the model, the same one that was unveiled at Geneva) roped off and Ford were hosting a reception for current GT owners, as invited by my mate. I'm not sure Ford had any idea what to do with the car, but they had the sense at least to involve someone else who might, and who happened to know most/all the GT owners in the country. Maybe HUK should admit that their own dealer network is too out of touch with NSX owners or the prospective buyers of the new car, and instead get Plans or someone onside, and do some kind of outreach.
