hello all,

was wondering if anyone could shed any light on what alarm i have?

its a very large (think 80's mobile phone scale) one button fob and there is only one sensor on the car (and you have to be literally an inch away, like "tv remote running out of batteries" kind of close)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v311/6453/NSX/e8af1215-7f2c-4759-baf2-f9be11be8d8f_zpskkcwnbvf.jpg (http://smg.photobucket.com/user/6453/media/NSX/e8af1215-7f2c-4759-baf2-f9be11be8d8f_zpskkcwnbvf.jpg.html)

the car is a 1991 JDM nsx if that helps anybody?

I sold and installed virtually every make and model of quality alarms and immobilisers over the last 25 years and can honestly say that I don't recognise the fob at all.

At a guess I would say that it is probably either a cheap DIY basic cumbersome off the motor spares shop shelf model or one of the thousands of unknown quantities from the Far East which turn up on flea bay constantly.

Why do you ask anyway?????

While I await reply from hkz286 can anyone help me with this question???

On another note though I need a new key for my 92 NA1 and wanted to know if the key pictured in your hand can still be obtained from Honda UK as the keys they show at dealers are basic with a cheap grey plastic top

Thanks.

yeah they can still be obtained but, they are 112 plus vat

the reason i ask is that its a honda fob (embossed on the fob) and that like you, ive never seen one before so wanted to see if i could get a wiring diagram for it from the jdm service manual, or if anyone had any info on it at all.

the sensor etc is too well integrated into the car to be aftermarket, and it has the keyless entry box behind the glovebox, but like i said, it doesnt look like the normal honda fob :s

just a curiosity i suppose more than anything

It’s been a while since last time I saw that remote....
I posted somewhere on this site (may be in Sudesh’s Refresh thread???) long time ago the same info but it’s the OEM IR keyless entry remote fob only available for a short period as an optional accessory with the alarm system (but no immobiliser function) on JDM NA1-100 type.

Being as the Infrared (IR), the owner had to point the remote towards the receiver at the door within short distance.

From JDM NA1-110 type (Feb/93), all NSX left the factory with factory fitted immobiliser/security system and the owner could buy much smaller keyless entry system with radio remote fob as an optional accessory.

Regarding the IG key, if you have a friend in US or travelling to US, just get it from there.

The price went up a little but still much cheaper than HUK.
The Monel one is no longer available in Japan.

The Monel Main key: 35113-SL0-A11, about US$100
The Main Key with hard black plastic mold with red NSX logo: 35113-SL0-A01, only about US$14.

I had the Monel one cut at Norton Way Honda in Letchworth.
Some people didn't have any issues by having it cut at their local quick key cut place but because of the material characteristic, you want the old style big 'punch' key cutting machine when dealing with the Monel.

Hi, Pride (Clive).
I have your email address so will contact you once I have heard from my friend.

Hi, hkz286.
It’s not easy to link one’s user ID on here with the 10s of email I receive every day from NSX owners outside of NSXCB but I think I know who you are.
To be on the safe side, I’ll contact you through ‘Send email’ feature on NSXCB site.
If you don’t hear from me within today, please check your registered email address at your user account control panel.

I have no plan of turning this into group buy and hope these keys are in stock....

Hi, hkz286.
I sent email through NSXCB almost at the same time when I wrote the above post on the 20th so seems like there is an issue somewhere.
I just sent email to your new address so hope it finds its way to you.

For your reference, in May, I replied back to you through NSXCB on the 18/May.
In fact, on that day, I sent 3 emails to you.
Your registered address on NSXCB site is ***l.***k@***e.co.uk

Obviously, you managed to activate your account on here so it seems that the registered email address is active but could you check your spam folder or visit your user control panel and double check the address in case your mail server has changed?
It seems that your domain ***e.co.uk doesn't exist???

I’m quite busy this week/weekend so will get back to you once I hear from US.

Thank you.

Kaz
