the prime thread... http://www.nsxprime.com/forum/showthread.php/190789-Clarion-Builds-1991-Acura-NSX-Full-Build-Thread
and Clarions site.... http://www.clarionbuilds.com/
they have dyno'd it to get a base line and now started the strip down!

lets see what a bucket full of money can do to a tired old NSX!!!!

Let's hope Clarion see sense and put a monster, ground pounding, LED flashing sound system in it to finish it off.:)

dyno run...
207whp - IIRC anywhere between 18% and 25% transmission losses (probably low-end of that as it's a transverse engine - anyone know any better from their own dyno runs?), so ~260bhp at the fly, +/- 5bhp. Not bad at that mileage for 270bhp originally...

At last some news about the build progress and it's not even mentioned yet on the Clarion Builds web site which is strange as according to this editorial it's finished and displayed at the CES Vegas.

The Clarion set up in the rebuild is a worlds first in that it doesn't require speaker cables to the speakers, here's a quote I read about the FDS system:
Aftermarket car stereo maker Clarion gave us the news that it will show off a whole new idea at CES 2016, which it calls Full Digital Sound (FDS). Instead of traditional systems that rely on a head unit, central amp and multiple speakers, FDS uses individually-powered speakers. The head unit sends digital signals to each speaker, eliminating signal loss through speaker wires. Clarion will demonstrate the FDS system in a 1991 Acura NSX show car.

Just a great shame it's going to be auctioned off to someone who won't really appreciate it.:(

not much to pull out :(
none of the cameras are particularly neat, then again i suppose they want people to notice them on the demo car!
it wouldn't be so bad if they had taken the labels off them....

All I can say is what a lucky guy that won this beauty out of the hat in Vegas, don't you think ????
Would anyone like to guess on how much Clarion must have spent to achieve this end result.
And if they kept it in great condition could he or she sell it for what it cost again???

An explanation on how to use them?! Generally you use the flat edge against an edge you wish to measure, as thats the distance displayed. (not the curved outer edge!)
Despite that they seemed to have put together a rather nice looking (freakin awesome) automobile!

The test driver is correct, the more you tinker with this car, the worse its driving reliability gets. Honda Engineers had it right. What was the "hot weather problem" with it anyways? They didn't mention.
(just listen to the frustration on that guys voice when the car went into limp mode haha awesome)

Cheers Geoff, I'm watching it on the internet and that auctioneer sure can speak fast, I should have bid for that beautiful blue Fiat 500 "peanut" Arbarth, it looked so out of place amongst all the iron muscle. Just $35,000, what a bargain.
I reckon the Clarion build NSX will fetch $100,000 plus.
Its due on stage just after 1am.
