Hello guys,

I found hundreds of threads and descriptions on the actual installation of the R chassis braces but I could not find the part numbers. Sadly I could not get my old EPC to run and I also did not find them on a japanese parts distributor online store.

Does anyone have the part numbers of both chassis braces with brackets?

Cheers,
Bernhard

Thank you!

This is exactly what I was looking for. I already bought parts there but I did not find it myself this time :(

Hi Bernhard, how much did that lot cost and what delivery time scales did they quote???

I have not yet made the inquiry so I can't answer your question. Sorry. Will keep you posted when I know. I am not finished with the list of parts I need for the winter maintenance projects yet.

I bought the ABS modulator there and shipping was very reasonable. All together it was over 100 euros cheaper than buying it from a known vendor.
You have to pay yen. It's a lot cheaper than using dollar and having two conversion. Yen is also pretty low right now from what I have heard.

1st addition to my '92 GPW back in '06 and it was an IMMEDIATE change for the better.
Sharper handling feel, no change to the ride.
Best addition for the money Honda offers for the non-Type-R owner.

Thanks for sharing your experience!

Do you also have the R sway bar up front?

No, as I don't track the car and don't really feel the need for that.
The chassis bars did the trick for me.

If I had to choose one or the other I would do the 'R' anti-roll bar. The chassis bars stiffen up the front up but the roll bar sharpens up the front end very nicely, improving turn-in. Much better bang for your buck and IMHO one of the best things I've changed.

I already have the sway bar (like it a lot) and I want to add the chassis braces to further improve the turn in.

I have no doubt that Honda did know their business when they developed the sway bar together with the braces for the R :)

Hi Bernhard, why not give the compliance pivot clamp a try, probably a lot less costly and far easier to obtain, it improved my turn in and handling incredibly and I had already installed uprated sway bars.

I read a bit about the pivot clamps after I got the car. My question is, why Honda designed this remarkable complex suspension when just clamping it to make it "conventional" makes it better.
I would love to read Kaz's thoughts on this.
But anyhow, if I have some spare money to spend I will definitely try it.

Next upgrade will be the chassis brace set. Chassis rigidity has never been a bad thing :D

Hi again Bernhard, after having a lengthy discussion with Kaz over a year ago now about improving the handling of my car it was he that suggested putting these clamps in place.

And as Kaz stated, if I didn't like it it's easily removed again.

As the word suggests it makes the car feel more compliant (comfortable) over rough surfaces or spirited driving, but I found once installed, it made it feel more pointy and direct with increased turn in, particularly at speed and when coupled with my large side walled Toyo 888 205/50 15" and 225/40 16" tyres it never really lost its compliant comfortable feel.:)

Personally, I would spend the money on the tyre, rear lower a-arm bush and most importantly, learn how to shift the weight on purposely, ideally through the data logger equipped NSX.

The concept of compliance pivot was nothing new. You can find it on other cars from another manufacture.
On the proto type NSX, this pivot was even on the rear as well but being removed later as it was not effective.
The reason for introducing this pivot was mainly for the comfort.
Therefore, with Type-R, the pivot bush rate was increased massively with the trade-off of increased noise/vibration.

This lead to the aftermarket compliance pivot lock parts and it is great especially for the braking stability but you need to study the design and material used on these aftermarket ones.
In my personal view, some of them on the market are not well designed and may cause serious damage to the original parts on our NSX.

For all sorts of Type-R parts, I already touched on them several years ago.
The comments section also contains interesting info as well so please take a look at the same time.
