View Full Version : New Skoda ad: It might be quicker to 60 but still not as fast as NSX.😎

The new Skoda online Top Trumps ad has just been released on YouTube today and it's very good.

I'm pleased to say that the great NA1 did not disgrace our forum members pride and joys on the day.:D

After several takes the production team chose this one and I'm pleased to say that even with a very weak and slipping clutch it still convincingly managed to easily beat it's nemesis the Ferrari 408, Porsche 911SC and Lotus Esprit in a sprint to 60mph.😎

If only it was dry on the day and the Skoda not 4 wheel drive I think the producers may well of asked me to go home early as it could have ruined the script.😂

Enjoy anyway, I know I did and thanks again to Havoc for posting for a volunteer to appear in it.👍

Wasn't the first run rather too close for their purposes, even in the damp?!? :D

Not a bad video actually...and your car did sound rather nice...

It's nice. AWD on wet road wins, no surprise.
It looks as if I have to defend myself against sophomoric Skoda drivers in the future too? :) But no way. The CTSC is on par with a Maserati GranTourismo with at least 440 hp.

Looks like a 308 to me...and the nemesis of the NSX was the 348 IIRC....You should know these things being the 2016 Euro NSX Guru!

Car looks much better with the red bonnet.

Quite agree Simon, well done, I was just testing the forum powers of observation and you're right on all four points.:)

In fact I think all the cars were of the wrong era and model weren't they?

Porsche 911 Carrera convertible circa 1980's, should be a 993 or 996
lotus esprit circa 1970's / early 80's 2ltr turbo, should be a v8 or gt3 1998
and the fezza as said above should be a 348.
Car ad people meh!

Bit disappointed in this considering size and weight of the sKoda
appreciate weather conditions but I have taken on quicker stuff than that

Not in the rain wearing Toyo 888R's against a latest technology all wheel drive 258lb-ft torque vehicle you haven't.

You shouldn't be to disappointed nobby because what's the point of the ad for Skoda if I had won.🤔

Its only a bit of PR fun anyway and shouldn't be taken to seriously.:)

Finally got round to watching this bit of fluff and spotted something. The card laid on the table was for a 1992 Honda NSX-R NA1 - pride's car certainly isn't one of these. If it had been, the result wouldn't have been the same. That said, lumping pride's car in with all that old tat was a bit harsh.....

Oh, and who makes an advert these days in 360p, rather than at least 1080p ???
