Having had my NSX a year now and having been with other friends to Monaco classic and Scotland last year, what do I need to do to join you for Spa this year? I have been a few times with my Triumph TR mates before, and they saw you all last year, so do you book track laps etc? Would like to drive down through the tunnel with a few others if possible, so what time do you normally head off?
Is it a boys only affair or will the wife enjoy it too, she is certainly not girlie and loves speed (cars not drugs)?
Whilst writing has anyone got a footwell amp they don't use as I have had mine repaired by Kaz but it has blown again, need the door ones too?
Thanks
Pete

Hi Pete, it's easy to sign up for this great tour, click on the NSX club Europe web site, go to the 2017 Europe tour and register with card payment.
If you have any problems just contact one of the main organisers, Bas or Dimer..... info@nsxclubeurope.com
If there is track time this year at Spa you will be notified on how to book up and it really is great fun.
Our NSX forum boys tend to book up to cross the channel through the tunnel on mass at the same time which again is great fun.
Partners are more than welcome as it's not purely a boys weekend away and by the sound of it your wife would it enjoy it immensely as the karting is a great highlight of the event for her to participate in along with fast flat and hilly scenic routes that are well organised to enjoy.😎
Bad news about your sound system problems, consider adding an after market amplifier hooked up to the origanol head unit after careful upgrading of your speakers. You won't regret it.👍
See you on the trip.
Clive.

If anyone else is interested booking for this event is still open...as stated before it's a great event and very social.
One comment that I should flag-up is regarding speeding fines (& others) - from 7th May 2017 the UK has to comply with the Cross Border Directive, which means that if you get a ticket on the trip this year it now CAN find its way back to you here...
...so an up-to-date camera database may be useful...or judicious use of cruise control! ;)

Thats a great point ! there were definitely quite a few flashes last year I remember ... i recommend the cyclops ap on the phone, has a Europe wide database and worked well for me across France in December.
Next question is what time are those of us leaving on Friday morning meeting at the train ? time to get booking !

Think Joe and I are the long-distance guys here - whereabouts do you live Pete?
What time did we get last year - was it 12.50? That worked well for me, although I could probably bring it forward a bit if needed...not sure about Joe / Pete...
Looking at google we've 340km / 3hrs 10mins from Calais, either via Brussels :shudder: or Antwerp (any better?!?). Plus we'll lose an hour to time difference. So the 12.50, allowing for a pit stop or two, would get us to the hotel +/- 6pm, later if we hit a lot of traffic. That feels OK to me and SHOULD put us past Antwerp/Brussels before rush-hour.
...it also would mean probably not waiting for any slackers that miss the train! :cough: ;)
Separate thought...fuel prices...is it still cheaper to fill up just outside Calais now?!? :D

Just checked - it was 12.50 out on the Thurs and 19.50 back on the Sun. It was all Simon's idea! ;)
I need 3hrs + traffic to get to Folkstone from my place, so anything before 12 is pushing it as I'll have to leave during rush hour (not the end of the world but not ideal if I've another 3-4hrs drive at the other end). Think from memory Joe's got a longer drive still...

Is anyone passing Extra, Junction 9/10, M25, Downside, Cobham KT11 3DB on the way to Folkestone? If so, we could meet there and drive together to the Tunnel.

I think Havoc is the only likely one to be coming past but there will be a few of us joining from the M23 and will probably meet at Clacketts services(The next services on the M25)

We will be at Clackets at 10.30am, would prefer to leave at 10.45am, M25 & M20 being the nightmares they can be.
That leaves a bit of time for a nice cup of tea ( or lunch ) and a chat if the motorways are clear and no panic if not.

Dear all,
Bas and I are busy planning the next NSX Club Europe Tour.
We can't reveal much, other than the date: 19/20/21 May and the provisional itinerary:
Friday 19: Spa Classic at Spa-Francorchamps
Saturday 20: Navigated Rally through Limburg
Sunday 21: Karting endurance at a FIA track
We will keep you updated!
I'll just leave you with a picture of the hotel:

I may miss the Clackett's Lane meet-up (I seem to recall being last-one there last year...) - if I'm not there, i'll catch-up at the Tunnel.
The earlier I leave, the more traffic I hit on the M40 (Gaydon and Oxford in particular) / the later I leave, the more chance of missing the crossing...
...so I'm going on 8.30am from Stratford, should see me pass Heathrow +/-10am...depending on that stretch I might make Clacketts by 10.45...

Ill be coming from another direction too so will see everyone at the tunnel.
Or shall we all arrange to stop and gather at the petrol station on the left just on the way out of the Calais terminal?

Good idea,
Why don't we meet there, and agree we will leave at 2.45pm local time, that should give everyone enough time, if we miss them at the English side.

We miss you too Rob, especially the sat navs as I easily get lost.😂
You may be pleased to know that it has been pissing down all day and the karting almost turned into a boat race.
But due to true British spirit Gary, Steve, Simon and myself managed to not only win the event but spurred by our all singing all dancing girl pit crew we absolutely, in true Ayrton Senna style managed to anialate the opposition.🥇🥇🥇🥇🏆🎉👏👏👏👏👏👏👍

You are joking Rob, we are using an app (definitely NO sat navs) that incidentally constantly get everyone lost due to lack of signal at any given time, but at least we all got back to the hotel in one piece without hitting any cyclists. :)

Hope everyone arrived home ok with no further interest from the 'authorities'. Sorry I didnt say goodbye but I was told to go straight into the queue for the next train which loaded almost as soon as I arrived. Anyhow thanks to Bas and Dimer once again for their very hard work, couldn't have been easy for them at some points during the weekend but they always find ways to make it work. Great fun, lots of laughs and good memories, looking forward to next year already.
Cheers,

Things I learnt (or things I know but were confirmed) from the NSXCE tour this year.....
1. Our roads are truly awful, or rather the Highways Agency clearly ensured that a particularly bad job was made of the M20 from the Eurotunnel up to London.
2. Having drove my NSX for many so miles I got into my QashQai (nor sure and don't care how to spell it) today and discovered its made of jelly, I actually got out to check if the tyres were deflated or the suspension broken but no that's how they make them.
3. Clive discovered he has a long lost cousin (or brother) which for us in the NSX community is highly entertaining and/or scary - take you pick!
4. Paul's girls have been raised without any sense of fear and have Senna like karting qualities (sorry but you had to be there)!!!!!!
What did you learn?
