You can always tell those who have never driven a car through flood water and are clueless about how to do it. While living in the Middle East I had a Nissan Altima family company car (yes, I know) and on occasions after heavy rain (it does happen) would have to drive through flash flooding - and this was moving, not static water. A veritable river running across the road. With the right technique - keep the speed up to create a bow wave and power on to keep the exhaust clear, I never had a problem even with water coming through the door seals. OK damp carpet for a day or so but the car never stalled and never suffered. After 3 years it was returned to the leasing company with no issues.
But, would I do that with my NSX? No way.

Karen's Civic VTi got very smelly after water from the bow wave came in via the HVAC vent.
That needed a pro clean afterwards.
So the speed is quite critical.
