Hi,
Anyone ever had a manual RHD rack reconditioned ? I've got a bit of play, which I thought was one of the inner track rod joints but it turns out it's a bit of vertical slack in the main rack.
Cheers

Hi Wix.
What do you mean by vertical slack, many years ago I suddenly found I had excessive play or movement in my steering column which I felt at the steering wheel. It turned out to be a displaced collar along the steering column, once relocated problem cured.

Hi Pride,
I removed the rack outer gaiter, ready to replace the inner track rod and found no play in the ball joint, which is where I thought the problem would be. I applied pressure to the actual rack and it moves slightly in a vertical direction. I'm guessing it's the bush/ bearing at the end of the rack outer body that's worn. It's only the left hand side that has the slack.
