The NC1 is now only being made-to-order - up until the end of last year cars were made for North American dealers to put in showrooms to create interest - this worked (up to a point) but also left a significant inventory that was sold off at up to 30% off list price.
Now, like the rest of the world was from day 1, the North America has adopted the made-to-order approach for NC1 production. This will probably see domestic (USA) sales slow right down to a trickle, but will also hasten the introduction of new variants such as Type R, Type S, or Type T models to re-ignite interest.
Note also the relatively "small" investment in the PMC plant - peanuts compared to other facilities (where parts of the NC1 are made).

Yep, I had also heard that the NC1 was now only being made to order.

Does anyone know how the NC1 fared sales-wise in Japan?
