At least when he does sue the a**e off them he can buy a selection of them ... I agree with GoldNSX though, a complete waste if the info is genuine

You would have thought it would’ve been far better for our stupid government to have sold it on in auction and given the money to at least a charity who needs it.
But oh no, they decide to just throw away £100k plus.
How dumb is that??

I read somewhere else that the car had previously been an insurance write-off and not insured when recovered.

This car was a Cat B write off so should never have gone back on the road. The shell should have been destroyed. A cat B isn't insurable so the driver was driving around with no insurance. Also, the car was supposedly repaired using stolen parts. All in all the car probably had the correct end to its life...

Now that all sense then. Cheers.

There's a detailed thread on PH.
Summary seems to be:-
- Cat B underneath, so not road legal;
- Strong suggestion that it had been repaired with stolen parts.
- Owner a rather (read: very) dodgy individual who's already been found guilty of failing in his basic duties as a landlord, and is now being prosecuted for cloning plates to go on stolen cars.
...so there would be at least 2 reasons why it couldn't be sold on OR parted-out...the police selling stolen goods MIGHT not be good for their PR!
