Owning an engine and gearbox from an NA2 1997 and no NSX. What car would/could you donate them to, to provide a fast road car sub £30K for the entire project?
No NSXs just to make it interesting

Honda Legend, but I think I would go for a Rover 800!

interesting choice.
I had the last model Legend with the 3.5 engine. Loved it. However any Legend is too modern for me. Rover 800 would never had consider that! very nice

I'd dump the gearbox and adapt the engine to fit an S2000. There's always someone breaking one on the S2Ki site.

I had a few MK2 CRX's, out of intrigue I did have a measure up and the centre of the rear wheel to the engine bay bulkhead on the NSX was about the same as to the B pillar on the CRX. Track is wider on the NSX but most CRX's have rust on the rear arches so cutting in a wide arch replacement sounds like a good idea. :)

Making a mid-engined CRX using a C32B sounds fun!
They are great front engined cars, particularly with the VTEC engine.

There is a forum member with a Stratos kit car and a spare engine too! Never fitted yet though as far as I'm aware.

By the way, the thread is in the wrong section.. An NA2 isn't a second generation..

Thanks for the heads up, on both counts

Also one of my all time fav's.

My immediate neighbour has been building his Stratos kit car for almost 2 years now and is hoping this year it will be on the road.

I'll ask him if he doesn't mind sharing his build link and if so I will post it up in this thread.

I would sell the C32 and 6 speed and buy a better engine and box for a swap and have spare for the project car too! So many better options out there - BMW S65 V10, Nissan VQ37VHR, K20, F136, Audi V8 - All much cheaper than a C32 setup etc... NSX engine is lost if its not in its native home. Its heavy and a bit dated but suits the car well.

But I know there is an S2000, DC2 and a del sol with an NSX engine in!

Member Goldtop was doing the Strada NSX engine build.

How much is a Lotus Evora with a broken engine?

I doubt a 90-degree V6 would fit, but it would have more character than the Toyota engine.

Fake NSX...

Beware ... it could be a long journey ... https://www.midlandslotus.co.uk/forum/topic/65032-nlc-lister-bell-stratos-build-thread/?page=21

Id vote Stratos as well ...

C'mon Barry.... Looks like folks want to see you create your creation now 😁

This is probably why Barry hasn't finished his project yet:

This is why my immediate neighbour spends all his spare time in his garage, he tells me the engine goes in before the end of this month and all being well the body goes on next month.

It's going to be in green/white and looks stunning 👍👌👏👏

So Marknsx, what did you decide?
