it's been on the cards ever since the 'ooooh, look, the car saw the speed sign' advert that has the 'seen' speed limit displayed on the dashboard.... not a very big leap in integrating that to the ecu....

it's all small steps to driverless cars, with all the development/ road tests being done by joe public with their shiny new gimmicky 'driver aids' without them realising!...... auto braking, auto parking, lane departure warning, even down to basics like auto wipers and auto lights.... all gimmicks and faddy add ons, but serious on-the-road development being harvested by the manufacturers! saves them doing the miles!
