Charging light and exhaust temperature light on

Hello, out for a drive a couple nights ago when the battery light and exhaust temp light came on. Volt gauge was down under 12 so presumably not charging. Is this a common fault with both lights coming on? Belt was still on so not that. I’ve not had a chance to look but thought I’d ask see if it’s happened to any of you.
