This may be / should be in a different section, but anyway some of you may have seen this week that Apple has launced a new "thing" called an AirTag for only £29, I was thinking for only £29 it would be worth putting one in the car as a sort of "Tracker" if somebody ever took our car.

Any thoughts?????? Good idea, Bad idea?????

Sounds good to me. One caveat is that the battery life is only a year or so, so you'll have to remember to change the CR2032 battery regularly.
You will also have to buy a mount such as those from Moment which have a self adhesive pouch which you could stick under the dashboard or behind the seats.

There is an Android version too for those who don't use Fisher Price phones :)

The trouble is I think the anti stalking features of the Airtags mean that any one with a different phone to the one it is linked to can detect it and turn it off. This is designed to stop people slipping them into bags and backpacks to stalk people. If they move away from their linked owner they automatically beep to alert to their presence.

I’m sure any car their will know about this and carry an iPhone with them to scan any car they are stealing at an early stage.

So sorry, I don’t think that they are a good alternative to a proper tracker.
