A little discussion started at the weekend re Drive by Wire.

It would appear that this became available from about 1995 according to Honda's website.

This appears to be a very useful site :)

The Drive By Wire system was "improved" for the 1999MY.

What were the differances? Physical ie new linkage/sensors/potentiometers etc or just the program?

I've often wondered if is it possible to upgrade earlier cars and what you'd need to do it. Anyone know or know where to look?

Hi Simon,

You may have missunderstood me. I know the DBW system was improved for the 1999 model year, I was wondering what and how it was improved and also if these "improvements" could be applied to earlier cars.

Maybe I am mad, but I like the DBC on my NSX-R better than the BBW on my 1999.
