View Full Version : Drivers side headlight bulb change

well ready to go out yest and no light from drivers side so

cheaked fuse = ok
tapped the box lol why i dont know but hay = no loose sound
tapped the headlight when up = no loose sound

put lights down position

undo outer cap where the headlight bulb is
unclip bulb
pull off electric conector clip
get new bulb from local fast parts = £2.98
fit bulb same way
job done in 10mins

easy to do the job if headlight is down

FYI

The manual recommends to undo that headlights motor fuse. I think is to avoid poping it up accidentally.

how the heck would you do it with the headlight up? literally a 10 min job with it down, and if the lights are switched off, and no-one in the car, i wouldn't worry about the fuse! (with the fuse, it's prob a 25 min job once you have found the fuse, pulled the damn cover off, waited to grow some nails to grip the fuse, etc!)

Is a five minute job including the fuse. :)

Wasn't till I changed the bulbs for the third time that I figured out that it would be easier with the light pods down!

( ... and to think people let me loose with sharps and scalpels! )

- then again, without my gynaecology training I'd never have managed to change the first two bulbs at all :-)

After reading the headlamp bulb head to head tests in Autocar (?) the other week I might have been inclined to spend more than £2.99 on the replacement bulb though....
