A bit of a long shot this. I'm looking to get hold of the above road test for the NSX. I've phoned Autocar - in the past they photocopied the article but now they can only give the whole magazine, and this issue has been sold out. Some very good performance numbers on the test - 0-100 in 10.9 seconds is a fair bit quicker than Performance Car managed a few years earlier.

I'd keep my eyes peeled on eBay. I'm after one of the May issues of Autocar 2000 which had a page feature on my car, but haven't bothered to do anything about it.

If you're an onwer you'll know, but if not the real performace of the NSX outshines any road test and comparrison...it makes you grin everytime you fire it up!

Good luck in the hunt - and might be worth PM simonprelude he has quite an NSX library at home!

I only really have the 1997 articles, several copies of each as people keep giving them to me.

I will have a look though as currently going through all magazines to get rid of the ones I no longer want.

I picked up Autocar for 2002 from EBay yesterday. There are 4 NSX related issues

2/2/2002: NSX first drive

3/4/2002: NSX vs. Skyline - NSX wins against Skyline. Also compared to 996 - wins on engine noise, tighter body control and gearshift, but loses on brakes, steering, torque out of bends and adjustability.
Autocar record 0-60 in 4.8, 0-100 in 10.9 and top speed of 172 (What did they get for 1997 road test?)

28/08/2006: Handling day: NSX places 5th, beating 996 but being marked down on brakes and steering

6/11/2006: NSX Type-R first drive: David Vivian very impressed - noise makes a 360M sound effete!

Your in luck, ;-) found my copy under the spare bed.
I could try and scan it in, or I can take a colour copy at work and post it to you.

I personally think Autocar's figures are a mistake, as they are very similar to theoretical NSX-R times.

Rob,

Part of the reason I had been looking for the 2002 magazines was because I couldn't work out why the 02+NSX had become so quick. The Autocar article states "Honda has managed to coax nearly a second out of the claimed standing quarter mile time. The car's no lighter then before and the way time itself passes hasn't altered over the last four years, so its fair to assume the NSX has been telling porkies in the dyno room"

Autocar got a top speed of 172 - the NSX Type R (tested later in the year - 0-60 in 4.4) is geared to only do 168, so I don't think they are confusing the figures.
