Hi,
Does anyone have advice for the best treatment for repairing the driver side bolster on a 90kmile NSX with black seats. I'm considering getting it re-connollised at http://www.clean-image.co.uk/leather-upholstery-connollising.htm or can you recommend anyone else.

I used Clean Image to restore the paintwork (and 'odor-kill' the interior) of Y1 - see here:
http://www.clean-image.co.uk/articles/part-1-honda-nsx-01.htm
I was very pleased with the work they did. I have no experience of their leather restoration service, but I hold them in high regards and have no reason to suspect you will be anything other than delighted with their work.

I have started treating mine with the Meguirs Aloe Vera Leather treatment, it seems to be getting better over time.

I had even worse damage to my driver's seat and had the section replaced by a car upholstery specialist. Black is an easier leather the match than any other but it was not initially perfect. However, with time and further leather treatment, it is now difficult to see the repair.
From the photo, I feel that your damage justifies replacement rather than just treatment.
I only paid £50 because a neighbour did the work so expect to pay twice that (it took him almost 2 hours including seat removal and replacement).

I was thinking that, when my leather gets worn enough to justify it, I would love to get half red leather interior for my '91 red on black! Anyone got any ideas on costs?

Talk to James, this is what he has done (Paparazou)
The NSXs leather seat are treated so they won't absorb the leather products too well. There is a product in America that people use for restoring them and it is not too dear. If I was you I'd try some shoe dye ( not polish ) first and follow it up with some leather conditioner, as the worn part will take it.
Hope that helps,
Cheers,

HI All,
I think I mentioned this stuff in a previous post, but if you try www.liquidleather.com htey have cleaner, conditioner and also scuff master leather restorer. My drivers seat is a little like that too and that's what I'm going to try. I already have the cleaner stuff and it actually DOES put the new leather smell back into it (in a Homer Simpson voice)hmmmmmmmmmm new leather smell.
hope that helps
Jim

there is an article in February's Classic and Sports Car Magazine that is extolling the virtues of O'Rourkes Coach trimmers in Rudgewick, West Sussex. Web site is www.coachtrimmers.com (http://nsxcb.co.uk/testvb/www.coachtrimmers.com)

Not that this directly relates to your leather problem, a Honda garage owner who I was pally with once, told me u have 2 treat your leathers now & again with a treatment that adds essential oil back to the leather to counter the heat in the summer, ur clothes rubbing and ageing etc he recommends Autoglym leather care/clean, good stuff. Gonna do my b4 summer or soon. Hopefully prevention is better than a cure! Cheers James:o

In my limited (S2000 & NSX) experience of leather seats this is most certainly true.
I used Zymol 'Treat' on my S2000 seats every 2 weeks (it only takes 10 min's to rub on / buff off) and after 5 years / 55k miles the seats looked significantly better than some 10k miles cars I have seen.
I'm of course continuing this regime with Y1, though it does take a little longer due to the acres of leather in the NSX! (Treat works fine on plastics as well)
