View Full Version : Smiling like a Cheshire cat ... :-)
As I've now become the proud owner of an NSX.
Picked it up this Friday just gone, less than 40,000 on the clock, very good overall condition, although there are several things that I'll be having done soon.
I just can't stop grinning when I'm driving it ... I start grinning madly when I'm walking towards it before I've even got in.
Will be hoping to meet up with a few other NSX owners in the not too distant future.
Sorry to Mike as there are now two of us in Basingstoke with red NSX's ... sorry to steal your uniqueness Mike ... although I'm looking forward to meeting up soon.

Congratulations.
So what are you having done?
The first thing was locking wheel nuts ... after market alloys, that imho look really nice. Now the 17"ers on the front and 18"ers on the back have locking nuts in place.
I need to find out the part number and source a facial plate for the centre panel as I want to have the factory fit stero unit removed and a new unit put in. But, unless I leave the company doing it do make up a panel for me [which I'm positive they'll do a good job of] they say that due to the separate tape and radio units that an after sales unit wouldn't fit in properly.
There is a somewhat annoying niggle with the drivers door trim at the end nearest the door handle. The middle part appearing to be made up of several panels that slot/clip into place. I'm going to ned to either find someone who can fit them properly and fix the last two which are lose and occasionally come off, or I'm going to need to source new bits for the last two sections, i.e. the one that wraps round the end of the door and is basiclly triangular in appearance and the trapezoid looking section that sits immediately by the end one just described.
There aer a couple of other things that I'm having done, but I'd rather not say anything on here till they're done. I'm sure you'll understand when I reveal the details after I've had the work carried out.
I'll be popping down to the company that fitted an Origin B2 unit in my last car, which they removed and are now going to fit into the NSX for me, to discuss where to mount the display unit inside the car. It may be smaller in size than a packet of 20 fags, but there's not much room for extras on the dash when you need to be able to see the panel at a glance ... anyone any ideas on a location to mount such a unit ... I've got a 1996 model, manual.

You need this replacement centre console (http://www.daliracing.com/v666-5/catalog/index_browse_part.cfm?focus=1651) made in carbon fibre (the pic does not do it justice) from my original which I sent over as a pattern - it is completely flush and uncut except fot the space for the heater/ac controls, this way your ICE guy can cut as required for your new head unit. I have one coming soon, if you want one I can ship them both together to save on 2x international shipping (we've done this before - see here (http://nsxcb.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1064) for last time).
If you are into your ICE why not get this matching baby (http://www.daliracing.com/v666-5/catalog/index_browse_part.cfm?focus=1672) too - it's a geniune JDM NSX option and fits a treat, but wrapped in CF to match the console - this is a perfect fit with the Alpine widescreen monitor which I am selling together with the DVD based remote controlled navigation system - see here for details (http://nsxcb.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?p=1266#1266)

Err no... spill the beans now. :)

When would the centre console get here if I said I'd like one shipped at the same time to save costs?

dunno how long before they will be done - I sent mine over to MJ in San Diego (as the pattern) about 3 or 4 weeks ago but I don't know how long the CF guy will take to pattern it and make some up.
why don't you contact Mark, mention our discussion and ask daliracing@juno.com
shipping normally takes a week from there to here, seeing as you are in Basingstoke we can meet for you to collect it as soon as it arrives.
I can't wait to get mine and install it, it'll be sooooo bling!!
