Serious Enquiry - Auto to Manual!

Has anyone swapped an automatic gearbox for a manual one? Is it a straight swap of are there some unique fixings between the two?

Any help is appreciated!

People have done it, but the consensus is that it could be more headaches than is worth.

Plus points is that the auto engine delivers good torque, and is not likely to have been used as hard as a manual.

Hardly seems worth it. Need pedals, clutch master, shift lever and cables. If you can't find those used, then they going to be very expensive, even if you got a used 'box.

Plus the auto engine delivers less power and prob won't suit the manual as good as it should.
