View Full Version : NSX Supercharged

Seems like Amo's car has turned up at TDI Tuning to have a supercharger fitted. Just mentioning it here as he said he was taking it to Hyeline. Guess they can't do it, if they've sent it on.

TDI are running a blog on it. You need to register there to see the pics, pain in the ass website, why can't they let you see pics without registering like I do?

Nice, wonder how long it'll take.
As I said to Amo is all in the tuning and NSX engines are not cheap! At least TDI have experience on the NSX. I talked top them in the past and they wanted £ 8,000.00 for a Comptech SC.
The question is how big of a TDI sticker they will put on it! :)
I have since resign myself to NA.
Cheers,
AR
well well well cant keep anything from u lot
lol
lol
there goes my suprise
ok there was not a prob with hyline doin it as i have been down london going out every night lol
my mate twisted my arm and they owed him a favour so he called it in between us so shhhh
ok the other thing is the 750 cc injectors do not fit as the are about 3 mil bigger
so wot do i do
thx amo
Amo,
This website might provide some info why some people are reluctant to use the BBSC:

Amo you are very brave fitting one of those after reading that site! Either that or you have botomless pockets of money to source a new engine if it goes pop!
Good luck all the same...
i wish i had pockets like that but no brave it is only going to run 7lb for now then may be a year move up to 11lb then the 14lb
was spose to be suprise at japfeast lol
but hay
thx amo

Hi Amo,
I think your NSX will deliver a surprise regardless of whether this 'secret' is out :) I'm looking forward to seeing this beasty for sure!
So what does 7lb of boost give you in performance terms? Not so much the BHP figure (even tho I'm curious), more acceleration figures.
Good luck with the project.

Amo
It's a shame that the S/C couldn't have been fitted a few weeks ago, one of the best F/I tuners has just been over from the states doing some work.
However I am sure he will be back in a few months so can check over the tune and see if any 'safe' improvements can be made to extract some more ponies.
I'll let you know.

Simon,
Who is this mysterious tuner from the states? What work has he been doing?
Cheers

Amo, that is one hell of an impressive power gain! What are you expecting on the combined MPG? Or do you not really give a $hit?
My friends Supra is knocking out 550bhp and although he loves the power he is a little jealous that I don't have to stop in the services when we go out for a run for fuel!

That will be cool...first UK supercharged NSX?
Any reason why you didn't go for TBs? TDI are an official Toda retailer aren't they?

Looks nice from here
at least with the intercooler it will not blow up too soon.
some un asked for advice:
Mind the final intake air temp, and get it under 160F
tune the A/F from the exhaust gas temp measured at the header flange
the 750's are way too big unless you are looking to end up at 600HP.
JMO, it's your motor..... ;)

at the moment im stickin with the standard injectors and fuel pump
they looked at the paper work from the black turbo one they done and was on standard pump over 500bhp so i think ill be ok on 7lb pulley until i want more ...
a little prob has appered looks like a few more hours as they cant get the oil pipes on the sump as they cant take it off cos the zorst it a single pice one so off comes the diffuser and the whole zorst lol
but has to be done
thx amo

at the moment im stickin with the standard injectors and fuel pump
STOP RIGHT THERE- THE "STANDARD" (IE oem) FUEL PUMP IS CRAP FOR FI AND YOU WILL BLOW UP THE MOTOR RIGHT AWAY - maybe on the first dyno run.
they looked at the paper work from the black turbo one they done and was on standard pump over 500bhp so i think ill be ok on 7lb pulley until i want more ...
A Tubo is not an SC - the standard oem injectors will not make more than 375ISH and they will not do that without 90PSI fuel pressure and will be running at 101% (or lots of expensive black boxes)
The "7psi pulley" will be ~ 6PSI net after it pushes the air through the intercooler.

look before you leap - this kit was not renamed the "BIG BANG" for nothing.
so the option is tank off and a bigger pump in
or
is there another option
thx amo

Comptech used to use the "boost-a-pump" device to avoid the R&R of the fuel tank - I think it is a bandaid. See if you can get the in-tank pump from a Toyota Supra Turbo locally. If you can't LMK and I can send you one.
going to ask about an external wlbro 255
thx mate
thx amo
no worries looks like new fuel pump standard injectors for now though
thx for ur help mate
thx amo
well up date
new intank fuel 255l and 750cc injectors are nearly in
just a few things left now
fingers crossed next week will be pickin it up mon so will try again for ace cafe lol sorry simon again

Ask TDI when its going on the dyno, so we can watch via their 'DynoCam'.
NSXGOD
27-03-2007, 03:43 AM
Hi Amo -
1) the injectors are too big by a factor of almost 2 for 6PSI and your car will probably idle like crap.
2) The Walbro pumps are not any good, and it will fail, normally sooner rather than later.
Hopefully not when you have your foot to the floor....
Pls be very careful unless you like buying new motors.

Dear 'NSX God' / Dali Racing / Mark Johnson,
Now that you're back from the grave (or wherever else you disappeared with your customers' money) how about answering some of the criticism you are receiving on this forum?
You've taken money and not provided the goods. In the UK this is called 'Theft'.
Let's hear what you have to say.....
And before anyone shoots me down for my comments, bear in mind that Dali Racing is using this site and forum to promote his goods and services to members.

More likely .82 bar. which is just over 12 psi. Seems like quite a lot for a standard engine, but I know nothing.

Papalazarou, nice dino...
on the TDI forum they said the car runs 0.3 bar at the moment... which seems more realistic.
