Hi all,
I was followed by an orange NSX just outside of Frome in Somerset and had a very short but spirited drive to the next junction.
I was in my red VX220.
It was great to see a smiling face and get a big thumbs up from the driver at the T Junction.
I hope i didn't hold you you to much!!
Stunning car and stunning performance!

Congrats on your new NSX - it certainly did look very shiny and clean. I was driving in the opposite direction - although mine isn't midnight purple but 'electric' blue!
P.S. even though I'm used to driving in London, it still gives me the shakes when I'm in my NSX - buses and taxis are a nightmare.

4 hours later we were still mooching!
My eldest son will get his first experience behind the wheel of a car there in a few weeks time and whilst he is having his 60 min's intro. to driving it seemed a shame just to hang about in the cold, so I an having a bit of a play with an SL55 on the drag strip.

Hi James,
The Enkei's arree silver as they will work well with the Magnum Grey as daily rims when the wrap comes off one day.
They are 17/18 combo with HanKook Evo's allowing me to keep the OEM 02 rims in grey with the RE070's for those special dry day drives!
Hi Simon,
Thanx for the link. The car attracted a fair few admirers being the only one on the day and several people asking about ownership who are potential owners and members here.

Noel, is the 72K service the big one with cambelt & spark plugs? I'm sorry to hear you had to pay HUK prices for OEM front disc & pads! I nearly went down that route 2 years ago, but when they stated the front disc parts alone were nearly £600 , I nearly collapsed! Instead I just got the rears from HUK as they are a quarter of fronts and went to VtecDirect (under Barry) for the fronts and they were a third of HUK prices!

72k is indeed plugs and belt. Think the service was £900 alone. I should've taken the car to Plans, but didn't get round to arranging it.
Wow, that's not as bad as I was expecting then - I thought the belt/pump was £1200-£1500 on its own.
Have you really done 72k miles, Noel?

I am just looking at the service details and only the belt was replaced (item 7) with the water pump just being inspected (not sure what they can tell from an inspection). The car has another year left on the warranty (and they are apparently happy to extend), so if the pump goes bang, then I should be OK - at least according to Paul

Car has done ~53k, but somewhere down the line someone was doing more than 9k miles p/a
And because I didn't get the MOT done until end of the month and hence couldn't renew my tax disc until post April 1st, I now have to pay an extra £30. Something to watch out for next year. Or maybe the Tories will have other ideas

hi
as stated in the japfest post i am unable to commit to this weekend due to the fact that i cannot get time of work and other personal commitments. unfortunately i have to get back to NI else i would have stayed for the fest as i was very much looking forward to it
did not see any fellow owners (at least i can say that now :D) on my journey up from the midlands to stranraer ... if anyone spotted me then let me know
the car purchased can be seen on PH, however when i get the chance i will take pics and try to post them up.
Sudesh hopefully gets the car over the weekend to work his magic on it as there is a series of jobs need doing to the car ...very much looking forward to him getting her up to top notch condition even thogh its adding to price of thhe car
to all those attending JF have a great time wish i was there

9:30am, Micheldever Tyres, saw a Green pop up with no front registration through the fence as I drove past. After depositing the barge for a couple of rears, I snuck to the rear and sure enough L3 was there - Martin: why was it hiding round the back?

Given that I've only seen about a dozen NSXes on the road ever, I was very suprised to see a silver facelift NSX in the carpark of my local Tesco today.
Should've twigged that with the Silverstone Classic this weekend, there was a chance I'd see an NSX around. (I live in Daventry, not too far from Silverstone.)
Anyway - Ian and Sharon, it was nice meeting you and having a chat, hoped you enjoyed the event.

No (well, not that I know of, but I haven't looked) - I skilfully constructed mine from a hotel 'do not disturb, I am doing things' door dangly thing, some plane white paper, a black fibre tipped pen and some 'prit-stick' glue.

Oulton Park "introduction to drifting", generally between £100 and £150. Low-grip surface, which they then bowser with water to make it more slippery, so you don't get out of second gear but can still lose traction all the way round. There are tyres and cones to hit so it is not without risk - an M3 took its front end off yesterday and there's usually 4 or 5 light dings throughout the day. I usually take the MX5 but risked the NSX this time for logistical reasons.
The next day is 6th November (details here (http://www.clubmsv.com/car-home/drifting.aspx))
Some videos of previous outings so you can see the tracks and get a feel for how the day works:
Helmet-cam in NSX (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VWfIsrsJEa4) (this was last year before they started wetting the track)
Rollbar-cam in MX5 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BNH4yh7fDkM)
Me smacking into the barriers in Evo (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FUqKI-ipiqs) They've since removed those big barriers after about half the field damaged their cars on them that day! The tyres are still there though.
Personally I think it's the dogs' danglies but it's not everyone's cup of tea and there is a fairly high risk of smacking your car into something (albeit at low speed). Soooo rewarding when you get it right though :)

I thought it was the standard purple colour. Looked the 'biz and made the 355s I'd test driven that morning suddenly seem a bit 'obvious' and pretentious. Should have stuck a note under his wiper offering to buy it! But then I really do want a targa...

Hi Everyone
Its been sometime since i have made a post although i have been looking at the site regulary .I can confirm that i am the owner of the midnight purple Nsx with the 02 facelift. After almost a year i have finally got my car back from being repaired. Some of you are probably thinking why so long to repair ? My thoughts exactly.
I still have a few minor outstanding issues to resolve over the next few weeks but hopefully I will meet up with a few of you on a mini meet soon .I will post some pictures in a few weeks once i have resolved the issues and had the car detailed .
It was nice to meet you Ewan at DMS the other day i hope Dixon sorted your car to your satisfaction, lovely looking car.

HI Mark,
Good to hear from you ... we almost met last year at Japfest ... have you chosen a detailer yet, if not then check out Kelly at KDS as he's Gillingham ( so I think local for you) and has worked on a few NSX so is familiar with the car / paint.

If you wish to compare, a friend of mine is a respected detailer. He comes to you, or you can leave the car at Brands Hatch where there is very secure premises. They also deal with painting, restoration and storage (they had the Vanquish over a winter and kept it looking great).

I don't think I was aware of this very late LBBP car... unless it's the 4k mile Greypauls one from last year?
LBBP can't be last 12... how many 55 or later are there!?

Hi Phill
I had my car done at KDS and very happy, but note they only do detailing and not resprays.
Just google or yell KDS Gillingham for the address or look up Lepson's Gillingham as they are next door. Both are a miute drive from Gillingham Station, or 5 minutes from the Medway Tunnel.

Here you go Phil. It would be worth taking the car to Kelly and talking to him about full paint correction. From work that I've seen it may well save you the full respray whilst returning the results you seek. Be sure to call before 2pm if phoning as he rarely answers the phone after this time due to amount of work he and the team have in the workshop.
