View Full Version : Servicing - Where To Go Now

I know that there has been much on the site about who to go to for that elusive brilliant NSX servicing. But it's all based in the South East! I live in West Glos and have used Marshall Honda (now Clover Leaf Cars) in Reading since 1998. This in itself is a bit of trek! However, the guy who's maintained this (and my previous NSXs) - Scott - has gone to work for Honda (UK), so I'm at a crossroads.
The question to all of you then is:
a. Do I still use CCC and hope that they have somebody who can do the work - presumably they still have the tools/
b. Do I use a local Honda dealer who might/might not have clue what they are doing.
c. I make an even bigger trek to Chiswick Honda to get them to do it. I think that Norton Way is just too far.
d. I use a "sports car" specialist who again might not have a clue what to do.
Answers on a postcard please! Seriously, any ideas? The car needs its annual next month.

I too am in a similar position, I will probably use Chiswick Honda to be honest.
I will look through previous service history as I know the previous owner used a Honda dealer in Gloucester somewhere who was NSX trained.

Hi,
I have the same issues too. I've been to Two Mills and Norton Way so far. Norton Way probably impressed me more, but I think the Worcester garage have a trained NSX tech there so I am going to call them shortly as mine is due the 72,000 mile service with cam belt etc. I have a quote from Norton Way to beat now in writing too!
I'll let you know what they say - is Worcester closer than the others mentioned?
Cheers,
Matt.

Bristol Honda have or had an NSX trained tech. they did my EPS and were quite good.
Cheers,
James.

Is this the one at Cribbs Causeway (Honda run rather than franchised) or the main Bristol one ??

The one at Cribbs which used to be next to Ikea. I haven't been there for a couple of years so thing may have changed.
Cheers,
James.

Which service? What age of car?
Changing oil and an oil filter isn't rocket science.
Ditto; transmission fluid, brake fluid, air and fuel filters.
Yourself,...a fred in a shed...?
Honest, ... if its just to show a ramp and a stamp, the closest Honda stamp.

Well Honda can't fit me in for an MOT until August so off to Nissan we go tomorrow :(

Had my MOT yesterday - passed with flying colours, well apart from the front two tyres! Still they had done 30,000 miles *cough cough*
I also have my cambelt service in August to look forward too, does anyone have a link for the correct plugs to get as Honda want £96+VAT for them?
SImon did you get you front plate sorted then?

Thanx guys. I'll check out Worcester once Simon has given his verdict. On the Bristol Honda scene, I must admit that I started off using Cowie, then Arriva Honda in Eastville (Ikea) for NSX servicing but the tech (Ian Maggs, I think became the foreman and seemingly unavailable). It was after they lost the "NSX franchise". I then went to Marshalls. Perhaps I should go back and check them out too.
I've currently got the car to go back to Marshall's but as it's a ramp and stamp, I might well go locally. For the big one - 2008 belts - I'll probably have to go to Chiswick or Norton Way unless our checks on the locals comes up trumps.

Well I had the MOT done today, passed with flying colours.
The Nissan garage were worried that the car wouldn't get on the brake tester due to the height, but all was fine.

Si, good news that P27 passed, but can't see why theres an issue with the brake roller test? My MOT station did'nt even bat an eyelid with my, has your car been lowered?

Standard height, but you know what these lardy Datsun's are like.
