Whilst there's 2 threads about air con/fan systems, thought I post this. Had air con re-gassed in Summer by HUK, but since I don't drive the car every week or use the air con all the time, I've noticed 2 things:
1. The fan(s) near the front of the car near the small air con rad(s) are quite noisy. Its noisy on start up when you switch the air con on, then quietens slightly after settling down. How noisy should these be when inside the car with doors shut? I know you can hear them when outside.
2. When air con is on and you start to acelerate, theres seem to be as corresponding whizzing sound only for a short while before you changed down a gear, then it stops! Are these fans belt driven and are linked to the aceleration of the car or they are independant? Ive read somewhere that noisy fans can be cleaned up?
All comments will be appreciated, I think I also have a noisy internal little fan as in the buzzing thread! So some switch spray may alleviate this. :)
