When driving (not VTEC) mine is around 8! Is that high? I don't know what it is in VTEC as I'm usually staring hard out the windscreen with a manic smile on my face :D
vtec for me is about 6
8 i think is hi no??
thx amo

Amo he said not VTEC.If you red line the car and look at the oil pressure gauge it drops considerably, change gear, drop off the limiter and it rises again.

if it drops too much when vtec kicks in, i suspect there may be something up with the vtec oil circuit... some members on prime report it dropping right off (down to 1!)when vtec comes in.. they don't think it's a problem, but would YOU want your oil pressure plummeting when the engines spinning at 6000rpm+?????
8 does seem high, i suspect it might have had the wrong grade of oil at the last change?

No one knows how accurate the oil pressure guages are!! Mine has always given a very low reading.

and you still don't think that might be bad? may be cavitation in the pump at that sort of revs
