Wanted: Tubi exhaust for 1991 NSX

hmmm... I'm an US NSX'er in the UK until the end of May. I'm interested in acquiring a Tubi exhaust for my 1991 NSX 5spd. Anyone looking to sell their own or trade or know how I can acquire one, please don't hesitate to contact me! Since I'm US based, I can arrange for an exhaust that you may want sans' the customs & VAT (due to my exemption).

I look fwd' to any comments or insights... 8)

Omar, you'll be better off with the Taitec, seeing as it is much cheaper and easily available from your neck of the woods. Tho the sound and quality on the Tubi, as good as it may be, it is bloody expensive :shock: IMO, its a little too course sounding for me. I prefer a more deeper and refined sound. Weighing in at about £1500 with an uncertain delivery date I think I'm gonna opt for the Taitec as well even tho I haven't heard what the Taitec sounds like yet. The Tubi dealer I spoke to was so confident that it is THAT good, he offered to take the exhaust back if I don't like the sound of it after it is installed in my car! PLUS he would give me £200 for the trouble! :shock:

Only problem with the Taitec is I have to ship it over here and then get somebody to fit it... U know where I can get a sound clip of the Taitec Lightweight ?

hmmm... I think I will endup going w/ the Taitec JGTC Parallel exhaust. That was always the frontrunner, I just wanted to see if I could score a Tubi while I was out here. I got some emails back and forth w/ the Tubi Style shoppe here. The downtime might be an issue. If one comes up "used" I'll definitely consider it- meanwhile, I'll start shopping around for the Taitec w/ Speed Within Reach, Science of Speed, Racing Paraphernilia (RP-Motorsports), and others. 8)

Btw, that Taitec GT Lightweight exhaust is very-very light...
16.1lbs (about 7 1/4kg)! If properly packed & inconspicuous... I'm sure it will pass through customs & therefore VAT. Maybe get the tips/silencers mailed separately, the hooks also separately, and then the muffler separately. For £500, you can't go wrong! I got a box shipped from my family back home, it was brandnew textbooks & must've weighed well over 15-20kg's. It just took a few weeks as opposed to the usual 5-7days normal post takes to go cross-Atlantic.

Info. on the Taitec GT Lightweight:
(it seems w/ cats, it'll be too 'normal' for you; and for MOT/emissions, you can't remove cats and do straight pipes in UK... that's where the GT really shines!)

Thanks for the links. U been really helpfull.

I much prefer the GT lightweight. I'm not only after the sound but weight reduction is also high up in my mods priority list. I'm taking the less for more approach by the way of wgt reduction on my X from the performance standpoint as I don't want to be messing with engine upgrades.

The JGTC weights twice as much as the GT. Plus the fact that I don't want it to be too loud. I can satisfy my ears if I feel I need a big dose of dBs by jumping in my boosted ITR as it has a straight though 3" exhaust and is deep and loud as hell. For my X, I want it to be civilised and refined that way I got the best of both worlds.

As much as I like to come for the drive this Sun, I won't make it cos I'm moving into my new pad this weekend. Theres always the next drive :) Have fun and try to take some video footage and post it up here if you can.
