Just got my renewal notice from current broker Carole Nash. They have always been competitive, and indeed cover my wifes' mini, and my motorcycle.
Renewal premium is quoted as £389 for self and wife (over 40!) ok postcode, loads of no claims (10 years plus) 15k miles pa, business use included , £600 excess. Apparently this is a NU policy.
Is this reasonable, and any suggestions of alternative online quote engines so I can test the market?
Cheers

Nick,
That looks competitive to me given that it includes your business use and has no real mileage restrictions.
I'm just about to renew my insurance and it will be £439. This is limited to 5k miles but does come with agreed valuation should the worst happen. I also get 30 days in Europe plus 4 track days covered.

I Think you would be lucky to even save a few pounds plus you will have to fill in paper work if you go with somebody else.

Thats seriously cheap! Apart from your age! (you don't have to tell us) :D, what other conditions or circumstances gives rise to such a low quote?

3000 miles but not much more for double the miles, max no claims and over 50 years young, living in the sticks was the biggest saving, would have been less for the 3.0 engine.

Last time round ( August 2007 ) it was ( don't laugh ) Marks and Spencer - Norwich Union policy via M&S Money - £538 to include business use / commuting

We run a third car from time to time and I just changed the insurance policy from a 2.5 SE Z4 to the 3.0 NSX.
I had a rebate of £90 and I'm 4 months into the policy... it was only £500 to start with!
RAC offered £75 cashback through quidco when I joined and were by far the cheapest for my 3.2 (£550). I'm 27 with 3 points and I live in the ghetto.
RAC are definitely worth a shout - try quidco for commision payments from lots of different insurers... why let you broker have it when you can get it yourself! Details of quidco are posted on here in the main insurance thread.
Thankstarr.
