Refitting of front lower spoiler/splitter

Just wandering whether to put washers on the bolts before tightening into the clips that fit onto the painted lower bumper piece? Are the front splitter meant to give, so if you were unfortunate to pull/rip it off, that the splitter absorbs the damage without damaging the more expensive bumper above it? I'm going to greased up the bolts before tightening too. :)

I could try that or plastic ones. The main reason I posted is that if you badly catch the lower splitter a couple/few times, then the plastic holes gets damaged/stretched to the point where the bolt heads are not big enough to do their job. I give rubber/plastic washers go & be more careful! At least they won't rust unlike steels washers! :)
