What's the Ring lap time for the NSX?
Just seen on PH that the new Ford Focus ST can do it in 8min 35secs.
Crumbs......that's as good the NSX isn't it?? :(

OK.....maybe not. These were the NSX-R, any on the bog standard NA1 NSX? I note the time on Simonprelude signature!!
In the 1st vid, after the time attack, did he pulled the handbrake on at 8mins 42 secs?! I thought you're not suppose to as it will burn the pads.....I suppose he didn't use the brake much. :D

I think the timing varies a lot on where it's measured from.
I am no aficionado but have heard things like toll booth or bridge as starting points.
My car was 8:38 I'll see if I can find the magazine article to see how / where it was measured from.

I think i read somewhere that a standard NSX did it in 8:15.Not sure if it was an NA1 or an NA2 though.

Simons right. NA2s were 8.38 but strangly NA1s were 8.37....
think it was sportAUTO that did the times.
Bridge to Gantry is for us boys to time. As we cant doa full lap we start at the first bridge we go under and then stop at the last bridge on the back straight.
If u consider anything under ten mins is pretty fast for BTG then full lap times are proper fast.

I've never been to the Nurburgring yet (soon I hope) I like to think I can drive fast but I am sure I lack a huge amount of skill and ability but what sort of times does a novice turn out in an NSX first few times around it?

A novice who doesn't know the track is probably going to crash if he chases a lap time. I'll leave it at that. :)
I know the track reasonably well now but I doubt I've cracked 10 mins. You need serious commitment to post a competitive lap time round there, which means you have to accept a very high risk of binning it. There was a British registered Cobra there this weekend that didn't even make it to the start line before hitting the wall...

In the Autocar 2002 handling test at Goodwood, the 2002 NSX did 1:31.85 and the Focus RS 1:33.89. Not sure how the RS compares to the ST
