Looks like a compact Nissy 350Z underneath!? To me if the next NSX is going GT, then it very compact in length, a bit Vantage V8 ish? Are those special BS tyres?

Looks like we'll have to go to the ITI's, Or the M600 :rolleyes:
to get anything in line with the looks of our current pride and joys.
Then again that was the idea at it's launch, wasn't it? Seems they've moved away from that goal.
Would have been interesting to see some ground-breaking Pina Ferina design input; rather than team Japan.
But, behold, this is the future (for the time being) of japanese sports cars.

I don't know the story, but from a punters perspective, I thought that Honda was taking on Ferrari (Italians) to a certain extent.
in performance and looks when they released the NSX. Hence why many people mistake it for a ferrari from time to time.?
So figure if we want something very special in looks & performance, The italians kinda of do a pretty good job these days. just to pricey on the maintainence.
The NobleM600 is a very good looking / performing motor also

I have had several conversations with Chris Marsh, all sounds very promising.
But when I tried to move it on further their customer service sucks, unless you were willing to put down a £5k deposit they would not even let you look at the car.
They do have a London agent now, which I guess they needed, but why would I want to go to London to look at the car when I pass the shed they are made in most weeks :(

If the new NSX will be so muscle i will never sell mine its realy not good they want to follow the road of nissan but the car look like a tank and no a sportcar
Honda i think that another car like the nsx they will never produce e perfect balanced car like they did NSX will become a piece of History and i will take care.
The new trend of sportcar don't have perosonality like the new gtr good car amazing but where is the personality the fashion actualy when i look the gtr i feel nothing and when i look my nsx i say good this is a sport gt car
I hope that honda they will look back on nsx

Not too keen on the front engined layout, If i go this route I would get an Aston or if on a budget a Corvette.
Ideally will keep my NSX for as long as possible but if I had to replace it then I would get a Gallardo.
but if the 5.5 V10 would slot in ours....:D

OK, just looked at the images and a few observations...
1. the claimed V10 must be a very compact unit to be packaged it what appears to be a small(ish) coupe ... maybe some real F1 learning applied?
2. looking at the rear I think there may be a 'nod' to the NSX in terms of an intergrated rear spoiler like the current car
3. it obviously isnt an NSX replacement, we've known this for some time
4. from image 13 (the only one with other vehicles close by) it suggests that this will still be a low car ... one thing I always note about the NSX is just how low the overall bodyline is even next to other sports cars
5. rims appear to be matched diameter
6. the +2 packaging will be interesting - rumours suggest useable rear seats and luggage space in line with original design goals of current car
Other questions will be
a. what price will they pitch at ... GTR money would be good but IMO must be sub £75k
b. model options, will there be manual, DSG (style) auto and will there be a properly stripped and UK available Type R
c. is it running the rumoured AWD system - this would be a real plus IMO as it would surely be close to GTR in performance and pose real threat to likes of 911, AMV8 and forthcoming baby F car
I wouldn't be looking to replace my NSX with this but would love to be in a position to run both :)

Simon, just look at the Khan Wheels, they are cutting corners.
If I was in the market for something in that price range not Honda and exotic, F360 comes to mind as does the Gallardo but the real winner has to be:

Dammed whichever way you turn... (tongue very firmly in cheek here guys :) )
If you go GT3 (a great car) you're a Porsche owner with all the negative connotations that go with it.
If you go Gallardo everyone will think you're a gangster rapper and/or drug dealer.
If you go Aston you're a James Bond wannabe or professional footballer.
If you go F360/430 you're a lottery winner.
If you go Nissan GTR you're a short on driving talent cheapskate.
If you go Corvette you can't even afford a RHD car.
My money would go the way of the Audi R8 and the boring video game/software developer tag that comes with it.
Ohh by the way, I DON'T like it (the camo Honda lash up)

Don't like the Farbio (terrible name for a British carmaker!) - awkward and overstyled inside & out IMHO.
As has also been mentioned, the companies long term viability must also be a very serious concern.
Where do they source the engine from?

Boomin33, sorry got wrong end of the stick, thought you were talking about styling cues rather than concept of why the car was built! Yes the NSX was brought out to kick the ass of the then Porker & 348! It taught them to make them reliable, more boot space, better shut lines & quality and since then all the exoticas have followed! :)
As Mark C says most of the junior supacars or proper supacars have certain negative image, they are have plus & negatives. Whatever people prefer over their P & Js, its down to personal taste, image, budgets, bangs per pounds etc. All I know some of the cars discussed I like, but it would have to be in white for me! But which one I would be telling then! :D

We've had this discussion a couple of times before, last time prompted by the launch of the Nissan GTR. Anyway, regarding the M1 concept, isn't it nice when one of your predictions come true...

Assuming really low volume or new start-ups can't count and the manufacturers mentioned so far in this thread can't either, IMHO only 2 names could pull it off... BMW and Lotus.
BMW have the brand and sub-brand (M-Power), motorsport heritage, finances, technical resources, scale, and ambition to do it. With current M3 4Ltr V8 and M5/6 5Ltr V10, they even have off the shelf engines to do it... I see no reason why they wouldn't? Sounds like a next gen M1 to me :)

shame they didn't do something of a NSX replacement... with the way the auto market, petrol future is going; although we've seen a lot of super-cool stuff that last 3 years, think the 'golden era' might close down. kind of like the early 90's...
or will we just see super, super light battery cell jobbers?
either way.. with the new release confirmed? guess we won't be seeing anything like these from Honda for many years to come? or is a replacement NSX still on the cards.....

Hmmm... anyone can use photoshop to morph an NSX, R8, and GTR into the next big thing but it sooo much more difficult to "photoshop" the actual chassis, engine and mechanics etc
It's similarly easy to make a race car sound like a racecar by building a err... racecar (like the 787b and Furai)
There's no question the HSC was on the right lines BUT anyone expecting the road version to sound like either of the above are kidding themselves.

We had been questioning what kind of performance we can expect from Japan's newest supercar but now those questions have been answered after information has surfaced that Takeo Fukai, CEO of Honda demanded the development team build an NSX that is faster than both its Japanese rivals.
That would mean a lap time of at least 7 minutes 28 seconds would need to be achieved, that will certainly be a challenging task to undertake. Honda are going a little further upmarket than the GT-R with the package found under the hood with a front-mid mounted 5.5-liter V10 engine producing in the region of 550 ponies and 420 lb ft of torque.
Maximum efficiency for the engine will be achieved with a cylinder deactivation system when the car does not require all of its power such as at low speed. An eight-speed paddle-shifted automatic transmission is expected to pass the power to the wheels via a new version of Honda's Super-Handling All-Wheel-Drive system (SH-AWD).
The Honda/Acura NSX is still 2 years away but it will be interesting to see if they can once gain become Japan's ultimate supercar.

So what if you make a car 2-10 secs faster than another round the Ring? Can't you just get a faster driver?
If you're going to be faster AND be able to state it's all down to the car, surely you need to lap the ring in 7 mins?

Same here, heard it all before!! Previously they say they are moving up market into the GT class (how are they going to compete against AM springs to mind!), now mid engined again!? but at what retail price? 80-100K or make same mistake with pricing by making a loss on every NSX sold, I don't think so! Who would pay that for NSX at that price range, it would have to be one special car when a GTR could be yours for 60K!? My 2p

I tell you if Honda can pull off this "NSX" then it will definately target more than just ourselves as enthusiasts it will reach an whole other portion of the population who wouldn't normally buy an exotic or "mid-engined, low slung" sportscar. Honda's looking for sales numbers and making this upscale front engined "NSX" is key to achieving great sales numbers.
I welcome this car and I'm hoping/praying it kills the GTR (fugly monster truck).
Very similar to what I've been saying. This new car is NOT a direct NSX replacement, but a new flagship for the company (even though it will be badged Acura to help launch the brand in Europe)
If this is going to be a) quick b) 2+2 c) available with good DSG style 'box d) priced around £75k + options, then I know a few people that are already interested.
What Honda really needs is for Ross Brawn to work his magic for next years F1 program. Race wins would be good but to be honest, BMW style performance would be good enough to help the launch of the new car ... just so long as they DONT call it the NSX ...

Because this goverment is so forward thinking it said "that the new 50 and 00 number plate system would last for 48 years then we will revisit the number plate numbering system"

I imagine in our lifetime we will see Battery cell (or the like) conversions to cars like the NSX. Especially if they make more leaps and bounds in the technology
As within 30 years Petrol should become extraordinarily expensive and out of financial reach? At least for 85%+ of the population.
Is the NSX light enough to go like stink? or still way too heavy to fathom?
