We should just buy this car and break it for parts!

At least he's being honest about the condition. Still overpriced though.......can't be worth more than 17/18K tops. Come to think of it, would you even get that if you stripped it?

Cheers,

James.

Got to agree with James, the car now seems advertised in the manner I would expect, truthful (to the best of his knowledge) still think the mileage could be wrong, however as there's no proof either way I would prefer the low mileage to be less blatant.

But, that's the way the market goes, if he sells now good luck.
If not, then group buy possible, however I reckon we'd need to get it for less than £20k with guarantees of at least £10k worth sold.

Without the original interior or wheels I can't see me wanting any bits at the moment though :( spare engine aside ;)

I would take the front bumper assembly lights front and rear, bonnet and side skirts. Basically 02 plus parts.

Shall we get the ball rolling...

But how much would you be willing to pay for those parts ??
It would have to be around £5k to make the car worth anywhere near £20k :(

That is almost new price :).

What is the engine worth? Only to someone who was willing to invest in a full service inspection.

Gearbox should be OK but no more than 3K!

I wouldnt pay anymore the £10k/£12k for that car for breaking and I would need to see it first! If you take in to consideration the money you pay out, the time/money it takes to advertise, time it takes to sell the items, having someone take there time and effort to dismantle it, postage and packaging, checking what is good and not great and many other things I dont think it's worth anymore than£12k. If It could be bought for that figure then I would buy it and break it myself.

I disagree with you on the breaking value. The engine and gearbox alone would come close to 10K.If that car was bought for 12K and you were not in a hurry to recoup your investment then that car would bring in well over 12K.
JMHO of course.

Cheers,

Ivor.
