OMG that poor car - it's stuck together with tape in places :OO
At least it's not a real NSX-R they butchered!

I believe that It is an NSX-R, at least that it what they call it when one of the mags did a feature on it. I believe that Detlef has also posted about it.
Cheers,

Mainly because it has most of his parts catalogue installed and has been used in the track evaluation of most of the aero parts and intake system

I can;'t see the pics at work but I'll try and rememebr why I didn;t think it was an R...
Engine bay rocker cover (although maybe this had beeen taken off!?) WAs the engine bay black?
Mirrors were white.
No NSX-R decals on the spoiler (decls everywhere else so surely wouldn;t have taken them off!)
It is RHD though and if it was a modded German NSX it would have started out life LHD.
It's a race car - why would you get rid of the original NSX-R seats!?
I'm sure the glass is double glazed at the back not single like on theR ;)
If it is an R then someone has thrown crazy money at an already expensive car and is selling for peanuts... I wonder if they have all of the original bits!?
Turning that back would be some project.

This is a real NSX-R! I've seen it in the flesh only a couple of weeks ago.
They have made a lot of changes so that it can be entered in to real race car competitions. I believe they had the backing of Honda Germany/Japan at the time and if they had been successful then Honda would enter a works team.
Depending on what he has kept in the garage I think this is well worth the money.

This is a NA2 NSX-R.
Only the NA1 NSX-R came with the alcantara dash.

Well if it is an R then this has to be some kind of a bargain. Theres some work to do but if you're minded to do it you could have a very affordable and unique car
Jobs as I see them form the photos
- remove decals and detail paintwork
- remove cage and replace rear screen (Dirk will have this)
- replace carpets and other trim (Detlef has OEM NSX-R door panels, Dirk for the other parts)
- dash is wrong (Detlef has these too)
- intake cover
- engine cover (Vtec direct)
- new rear valance and front splitter
- Seats - could go with Pole Position and set of covers
Dont know what else has been done and not seen it, but still could be a bargain compared to shipping a stock car from Japan at £80k+
Now who was it that was looking for an NSX-R recently

Could this race car have started life as the German registered NSX-R that Honda punted around the press in 2002? (Pic attached)
It could be that it was too difficult/expensive to register and sell as a privately owned road car in Germany (why not bring it to the UK??) so they decided not to bother and turn it into a race car. Assuming it's never been properly road registered it'd probably be a huge problem to do so and therefore the car could best be left as a racer.
The car has raced in the ADAC Nurburgring 24Hr event a couple of times, best result finishing 6th in class and 26th overall in 2007. Results here... http://adac.24h-rennen.de/en/archive/2007/results/resultdatabase.html

The best lap was 10:07.833, it's very bad for a NSX.
Maybe on WET track ?

Would it not be easier here as there is (at least) one in regular use?
Maybe the R is just meant to be rare

Remember the race is not just run over the old circuit (Nordscheife) where all the road car times and claims are made (NSX-R 7min 57sec), it's the old circuit added to the new circuit which is a couple of miles longer. It adds the best part of 2 mins to the overall lap time compared to the "normal" Nordschleife.
Paul, yes it could well be a bit easier in the UK.
They're not that rare anyway, there're 152 of the blighters ie 5 times more common that an Type S Zero, nearly 4 times more common than a post '02 Type S and less than a 3rd rarer than the original Type S ;) Overall R's are more than twice as common as S's.
Mark (being a Type S snob for the afternoon :) )

This is what the ad says:
, Recaro seat, screwed cell, Bilstein load work adjustably, on disk coupling reinforces, removable steering wheel, constructed after 24-h-Reglement 24-h-Reglement H 24-h-Reglement 24-h-Reglement (SP6), aluminum wheels 18-inch BBS, brake ahead & behind MOVIT, vehicle passport, transmission series barrier reinforces, reserve no street allowance possible!!!, errors and between sale!
Some of the mods would be good (eg brakes) and other bits could be sold to fund the conversion. If someone buys my car from me I'll have a go!

It would be great if you could justify buying this NSX-R "as is" purely to keep as a track, meeting or weekend car, livery and all, and it definately looks cheap compared to the 1993 GT3 Cup NSX "Springbok" are presently advertising in Germany for 79.900 Euros:

IIRC
Mr Sage's Car (White and Red) High compression pistons rumoured to be 14:1, 3.2 L, ITB's roof mounted filter and intake, V-Tec Killer Cams, custom exhaust designed by French F1 Exhaust Manufacturer, Rumoured to be 425hp - Very fast Till NSX2000 jumped in for a ride it promptly broke down. Mr Sage Was President of Honda Switzerland, and was also involved in running Honda's Le Man Car.
The other car is a 3.0l owned by Jean Claude Zucker President of Honda And Sport Car Club Switzerland and another chap Dider Whayt. Very fast, if I recall correctly lapped The Le Man Circuit in 1:56, 1.57. The Accord WTC lapped 1:50 and completly ate GT3's. ITB's, High Compression Pistons, Custom exhaust @ 325hp
A chap called "ET" was their spanner man if you want further set up info for the cars esp the 3.2 which was very "Trick" I could try and find out how to contact him for you.
The White Type "R" for sale could only manage a lap of 2.08 it really didn't look in the best of shape.
One of my all time highlights was to get a ride in these cars, also had a Teg race car the driver was fantastic - a Porsche Turbo couldn't pull away from him.

How about somebody buying both and transplant the parts of the NSX-R into the stolen recovered then you'll have a UK road legal etc NSX-R.

Rob,
Are you and your dad not tempted by this!?
It must have had more $$$ spent on it than T2 and somewhere under there is an NSX-R!
Go on... bring her home (sort of):D

I'm sure Detlef is best to answer but i'm not really sure how modified that is other than being stripped out, for class reasons i imagine. Besides... the point of no return has been met!
http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y50/robfenn/Dscn0674.jpg
I would love an NSX-R but i think i would want a completely standard road going car to look after like a child!

Well you've reached the point of no return with one NSX, maybe that other one is destined to be turned back to a road going car for you to baby;)
The cf and racey bits could either be used on T2 or sold to help fund the revitilisation of the NSX-R. I'd love to do it but don't have the patience!

Make an interesting NSXCB track day car if membership "clubbed" together and bought it.
