Hi all,

Noticed that my rear glass (the double layered glass that seperates the cockpit from the engine behind) has some oil or watermark in between the 2 sheets of glass...

It seems to be in between (correct me if I'm wrong) the rubbers still look good...so I'm wondering how did foreign subtances get into that particular area..

Has anyone dismantled it DIY style to reach in between for clening...or is it best done by a specialist? Any advice iis most appreciated...

Cheers

I think I've heard that you can remove one of the sheets of glass to type-R-ify your separator... but I may be talking boll0x!

Surely it is a double glazed sealed unit....?

That's what I thought and nearly £2k for a new one :(

Probably best not to listen to me then!

Cars that are being broken for spares are unlikely to have sold this though...

I have the same problem, especially noticable when the sun (whats that?)shines on it.
I don't think it would be an easy job to remove and clean judging by the section in the Service Manual.
