I did, Already spotted them and will keep an eye on it.

Is anyone else here one of the bidders already?

I was, but was only interested in them if they went cheap, I'm out.

Judging by the Red H badges they've had a refurb in their lifetime

Good Luck Mart155

Yep, I'm looking for these, but don't want to compete against fellow members - is there a protocol we can use to avoid this?

I was going to bid on these to keep as a spare set but if other members are interested/bidding then I'll leave it be as I already have the same wheels.

After the last few times we did this, I'd say just leave it to whoever has the deepest pockets.

That's fair enough I guess, to be fair to the seller. My car's (92 NSX as in pic) off the road at present, following a collision with a kerb in July, which wrecked the off-side rear suspension, but can I find a replacement set of wheels? And I'm going out on Wednesday, when the auction closes. I'll just leave my highest bid and see what happens.

Being new to this forum, which has been really helpful up to now, does anyone have any idea what the going rate is for suitable used rims? I also have to factor in about £50 to transport to the north of Scotland.

Thanks for your comments and suggestions.

Dave

I'd say around £400 would be top money for them.

I'm keeping an eye on it but haven't decided whether to bid

Well if they were mine and i was selling them on ebay the reserve alone would be more than that.I've seen those wheels in good condition going for a grand or more.

Cheapest one I have bought was £1, most expensive £70.
Refurbishment £30 per wheel.

I agree with both of you!

£1,000 if they were perfect with decent (6mm +) tyres

-£300 if they need refurb
-£150 if no tyres
-£50 hassle of getting above sorted

So £500 max if they're tyre-less and in need of refurb!

Depends how desperate you are and how long you want to wait for another set to come up. If you can be bothered to get some from Prime then you'll probably get an unmarked set with tyres for c £600 shipped... probably more with the £ being so weak at the moment.

i was also after a set but would rather pay more for a mint set with good rubber on as these are a little too scuffed / marked for my liking... And the seller sounds a right t1t after i spoke to him yesterday...!!

missed this set though... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HONDA-NSX-17-ALLOY-WHEELS-IN-EXCELLENT-CONDITION_W0QQitemZ130262297481QQcmdZViewItem?hash =item130262297481&_trkparms=39%3A1|66%3A2|65%3A10|240%3A1318&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14

I pretty much disagree with everyone;

First off, the wheels for sale at the moment have totally the wrong tyres.
Secondly, and no offence Simon, but where car you get a decent wheel refurb for £30?
Thirdly, whilst a grand seems a little OTT for a good set, £150.00 a set is rediculous.
Fourth, Wheels are often cheaper when bought singularly on ebay.
Finally, with the exchange rate the way it is, Prime ain't as attractive as it used to be and shipping isn't cheap.

Hope I haven't left anyone out, but this thread was getting silly.

Cheers,

James.

http://www.wheelrefurbishing.com/

I used them for the NSX wheels and 2 sets of S2000 wheels, but yes truly £30 per wheel. The S2000 ones are done in Black chrome, NSX ones in OEM finish.

With 1 minute to go they were at £215. At 30 secs up to £260. Sold for £345. I know that a dealer made the £260 bid.

:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Say you're not interested, say it's down to the one with the deepest pockets, "price" them up then grab em.....:D

Kinda funny.....

Well I was the first bidder on them and have let everyone know what my maximum bid was, if they had gone over that then they would have gone to someone else. So by the looks of it, they did go cheap.

Just looked, I bid on them before this post was even created, not that I feel any need to justify myself.

Thanks everyone - most helpful and interesting discussion and some useful tips and information on the way - I'm older, wiser and still have cash in my pocket. I'll follow up the leads and see how it goes.

Simonprelude - what wheels are currently on your car.. noticed it is a 97 model..
I presume aftermarket ones as you have bought a set of stock ones.. Are the ones currently on your car for sale.?

Cheers

Currently I have NSX type S BBS wheels, they might be for sale, but would be around £800 if I were to sell them, these wheels are destined for my S2000.
