After a bit of digging, I found this old EVO mag, which pitted the-then new NA2 NSX against a TVR Tuscan S, 911 (996) C4S, Corvette Z06 and M3 Coupe (aka Bread Van).

Predicably, the 911 took the honours but they still put the NSX is a close second - saying that had the NSX been up against the current 911, it could have been different.
John Hayman said: "I adore 911s, but I'd forgotten how very close the NSX is to perfection. That fantastic wail between 6000 and 7000rpm stands the hairs on the back of my neck to attention, and the gearchange is undoubtedly one fo the finest ever. Look at teh power figures and you could be tricked into thinking the NSX is old, dated and slow. Until you drive it..."
The file's a wee bit too big to upload to the forum (unless the talked about review section (http://nsxcb.co.uk/testvb/showthread.php?t=5497)ever got going, Luke?), so I've dropped it onto Skydrive (http://dz0qxa.bay.livefilestore.com/y1pvhCaKoeHdl_BITiiNjLmfYCZzotHUJbggAdehFq4Dq36Uhq U9oUv0q4eAnHD8jbuD64CMn7WrZ1njfOtysoDRw/EVO%20May%202002.zip?download).
